A CONTEMPLATIVE ROSARY MISSION SAN LUIS OBISPO DE TOLOSA Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10 a.m. With Mission Singers, and Piano Praying the Luminous Mysteries with Scripture and Song. A Contemplative Rosary is a pastoral response to Pope JohnPaul II’s Apostolic Letter on the Most Holy Rosary (Rosarium Virginis Mariae), composed by Bob Hurd inSan Jose, California, May 2005 Very Rev. Kenneth Brown, V.F. June 1, 1949 to May 23, 2015 We received the sad news that Fr. Ken Brown passed away on Saturday, May 23rd. Many of us knew him as a Cal Poly Professor and member of Old Mission Parish before he entered the Seminary in the early 2000’s. He was ordained priest here at the Mission in June of 2006. We were truly blessed to have him as part of our community and as a priest in our Diocese. His services will take place at St. Patrick’s Church in Arroyo Grande where he has served as Pastor since 2008. It was at this point that Jesus, knowing he was about to return to the Father, commissioned the apostles to carry the message of the Good News into all the world. They would baptize, make more disciples, and teach the message Jesus had brought them. Jesus made it clear that his ascension did not mark an absence; he would always be with them. This gospel message is the foundation of the Church and makes clear what we are called to do and be. P.
