OOTSY HOLLER’S TEN-YEAR JOURNEY
TO EXAMINE AN INTANGIBLE FAMILY
HISTORY will be showcased in a
photographic exhibition titled
Nuclear Family, on view at wall space
gallery through April 26th. An artist talk
and reception is planned for Saturday,
March 14th, from 3 to 7pm.
At the heart of this story in three parts
is Holler’s desire to coalesce a sense of
family, to forge relationships with distant
family members, understand their secrets,
and to expose the land where the family
laid roots, and held private the deep secrets
of the inherited lore.
Each chapter in this series has a unique
perspective and approach to family.
Visiting the Buehl sisters, 1958 by Bootsy Holler

E

TECHNIQUES AND NATIVE AMERICAN
CULTURE, R. Anthony Askew creates
one-of-a-kind prints using rich colors,
energetic lines, and shapes to form lyrical
non-objective compositions. Prints PLUS, a
solo exhibition of his work will be on view at
the Architectural Foundation Gallery from
March 6th through April 10th. An opening
reception is planned for Friday, March 6th,
from 5 to 7pm.
While teaching at the College of Santa Fe
and the Institute of American Indian Arts in
New Mexico during the summers, he began
exploring the monotype process. While
most of Askew’s new works are viscosity
monotypes, some are Chine-collé, which
combines printmaking with collage as part of
the initial process.

NSPIRADO EN TÉCNICAS DE IMPROVISACIÓN DE JAZZ Y LA CULTURA NATIVA AMERICANA, R. Anthony
composiciones líricas no objetivas.
