Attention FBLA members there will be a meeting right after school in Mr. Wilber's
room on Monday in order to get our club picture taken and also to discuss the
leadership conference.
There will be a mandatory Anime Club meeting today from 2:30 to 3:30 in room
2021. Everyone who wants to be involved in the convention must come! New
members and anyone interested in being a part of this event are encouraged to
attend.
Attention all Freshmen: Winter Carnival t-shirt order forms and money are due to
Ms. Damon or Ms. Doyle by Tuesday, February 10th. Please see your advisory
teacher for permission slips.
Sophomores are invited to come in after school to sign up for Winter Carnival
events in room 3025. When you sign up, please sign up for only one event.
Want to get that someone special a rose for Valentines Day? The Equestrian
Team is selling rose bouquets! Buy yours today during all lunches Friday 2/6 and
Monday 2/9 or stop by the greenhouse classroom. Roses will be delivered next
Friday, 2/13.
There are still openings for the March 2nd driver education course being held
here at PA with Freyler’s Driving School. There are applications available in the
main office for the March 2nd and April 20th courses. Sign-ups are now taking
place in room 2012 from 2:20 – 4:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and
Wednesdays. Please do not leave applications with the front office.
Pembroke Academy-are you interested in d-jaying during winter carnival gym
days? Or, are you interested in emceeing during gym days? If so, please see
Ms. Paquette in room 1026 by the end of this week.
All talent show contestants must attend a brief meeting after school today in
room 1026. Please see Ms. Paquette with any questions.
Gaming Club will meet today at 2:30 in room 3013. We will be taking our picture
for yearbook so please be sure to attend!
Attention Sophomores:
We will be gathering again this Saturday from 9AM to 12PM in Room 3025 to
continue prepping decorations for Winter Carnival and also to work on the skit. If
you are involved in either of these, or would like to be, please plan on attending
Saturday. Also, don't forget to check with your advisory teacher to order your
Winter Carnival t-shirt. Last day to order is today.
Attention PA: Do you want a free haircut? All you have to do is donate at least 8
inches of your hair during Winter Carnival. Hair can be dyed or gray as long as it
is healthy and dry at the time of the event. Starting next week you can come to
the Key Club table for more information or to sign up. You must sign up if you
want to participate.
Attention PA: Does your class have what it takes to be the best family around?
Prove it! Winter Carnival is just around the corner so gather a team of 5
members to play in the new Family Feud Game. During the week of Winter
Carnival (a date to come) each class will compete in trivia about PA, to see who
is the best class around. Each team will consist of 5 players, one team per class.
Each team will need to pay a fee of $10. Please see Mr. Benard of Ms. Wilburn
for questions and fee payment. More details to come
Feeling romantic? Then buy your Date Package Raffle tickets from Doña Ursula
or a Spanish Honor Society member. The prize is a package that includes gift
cards to a florist, a candy shop, restaurants and a movie theater: a value of over
$100. Tickets are 1 for $1 and 6 for $5. All money raised will support the SHS
Scholarship fund. See the pink posters around the school for details, or see
Doña Ursula in room 1013.
It's coming! The Spanish Honor Society food fight competition. Start buying
canned goods for the Interfaith Food Pantry and bring them in for Winter
Carnival points between February 11th and February 18th. Donations may be
dropped off during lunches. Earn 1 point for each canned good that your class
brings, OR bring in tuna and peanut butter to take points away from the other
classes. See posters in the cafeteria for details.
Start saving your pennies because the Penny War is on! The creatures of the
undead will go head to head during lunches starting February 6th through the
20th. Pennies will be counted as positive points and dollars, quarters, dimes and
nickels are negative points. The class with the most points will be awarded
winter carnival points and all the money from their class bucket. The losing
buckets will be donated to the National Honor Society. The War is on!!
Metal megatrons reaching for the sky!!! Six Playing fields, 60 robotics from three
different states with some reaching over 6 feet tall. Where?? Pembroke
Academy Cafeteria! When?? This Saturday February 7th from 9-4 . The best part
- it is FREE!!! Come see if your PA Robotics team can hold onto its 11 spots it
presently has for the State Championship. There are a lot of teams gunning for
those spots by playing this year's game - Skyrise!! Hope to see you there!
Congratulations to John Sanborn and Kam Anderson, who qualified and will
compete in the 1500 and 1000 meter races, respectively, at the Indoor Track
State meet this coming Sunday at Dartmouth College. Also, Ryan Jacques and
Jake Simonton will join John and Kam to represent P.A. in the 4 by 400 meter
relay team, which ran a blistering 3 minutes, 54 seconds this past Sunday to earn
a spot at the States. Wish them luck!

If you are interested in touring the Concord Regional Technology Center on
February 12th, you MUST SIGN UP BY TODAY in your House. You must have a
field trip permission form on file here at PA.
Attention seniors: Congratulations on your college acceptances! Please bring a
copy of your acceptance letter to Mrs. Demchak in Blanchard House.

Sports Results:
The Pembroke boys Freshman Reserve Basketball Team defeated Souhegan
49-28. The P.A. performance player of the game was Malik Faraj who scored 29
points.

Poetry Out Loud Participants - There is a mandatory Poetry Out Loud Meeting
today after school in room 1012. Anyone participating or interested in the school
competition must attend. The meeting starts at 2:30. See Ms. Gelinas for more
details on Poetry Out Loud.
Attn Yearbook staff: We will be meeting today after school at 2:30 in room 1030.
We will be discussing senior superlatives, dedication and winter carnival. Please
attend.
The Jamberry Online Fundraiser sales today. Purchases made with cash either
from the booklet, or for the special winter carnival themed nails, should see Mrs.
Caron by this afternoon.

Any student who is registered for a VLACS class for Semester 2 must submit
proof of enrollment to Mrs. Battye in the main office by today. Failure to provide
this enrollment proof will result in the student being dropped from the VLACS
class and rescheduled for a regular PA class.

The After school music program is ready to start up again for second Semester.
The Spartan Singers, an award winning non-auditioned school community chorus
will rehearse every Tuesday from 2:30- 3:45. Students who enjoy singing are
encouraged to join. We invite past members as well as encourage new
membership. Remember there are no audition requirements! All we ask is that
you have a desire to sing and have a strong commitment in attendance as well
as a strong work ethic. The Spartan Singers will be performing in the Spring
Pops Concert in May as well as participating at a Music Festival Competition
which concludes with a fun day at Six Flags in May.
Maestro Singers will rehearse on Tuesdays directly after the Spartan Singers till
5:15.

Sports Results:
Girls Varsity Basketball beat Goffstown 46 - 29. The “Life of a Spartan” Pure
Performance Player was Hannah Seidner. Hannah led all scores with 18 points
and dropped 4 treys against Goffstown. Hannah also did a great job running the
Spartans offense and buckling down on defense. All around complete game for
the whole team.
Girl’s Reserve Basketball beat Sanborn. The “Life of a Spartan” Pure
Performance Player was Samantha Gramatikas. With 13 points and 6 rebounds
Sam helped lead her team to another victory over Sanborn.
