Cont act : J en ny Pag e ([email protected]) The flowers on the altar last weekend were from Mike and Karen Schwartz in honor of both their parents. Pastor Dave is teaching a short course (through February 22) in the Chapel between services, starting at 9:45 AM. The majority of the class will be spent studying what God’s Word has to say regarding the subject of healing. Subjects covered include: reasons for sickness; purposes of God in healing; what healing is; involvements in the practice of healing; factors outlined in James 5:14-16; basis for practicing healing today; spiritual gifts of healing; and healing and the will of God. Healing in regard to Isaiah 53 - and healing in the atonement of Christ - will be covered. There’ll be encouragement for the practice of healing as part of the visitor’s tool kit. Eucharistic visitors, spiritual caregivers, and any who desire to be involved in, or learn about, visiting those who are ill, homebound, in hospice, rehabilitation centers and hospitals are encouraged to come learn and participate in the discussion. Operation Christmas Child 2015 – February items of the month are toothpaste, individually packaged toothbrushes, hair brushes, combs, ponytail elastics, barrettes, headbands, and other “hair stuff.” Please remember that items need to be NEW and un-used. Thank you! RLC Library News: Thank you for the many donations in 2014. Over 100 books were added to our shelves last year, something in almost every category. A selection of these will be displayed each month this coming year on the counter in the room off our narthex. Our Wednesday night small group with Pastors Steve and Corey is going through the DVD series “Sacred Parenting: How Raising Children Shapes Our Souls” by Gary Thomas. Parenting a child is an in-depth course on spiritual formation, expressly designed by God to shape your soul in ways you cannot imagine. What if one of God’s primary intentions for you as a parent isn’t about successfully raising perfect children, but about you becoming more holy? Sacred Parenting helps you look at parenting from a different perspective. In this six-session video group study, designed for use with the Sacred Parenting Participant’s Guide, award-winning author Gary Thomas offers a roadmap to spiritual growth through the children that God has given you to parent. Sacred Parenting will help you and your group learn how God can transform dirty diapers, a toddler’s tantrums, and a teenager’s silence in order to transform you into a person who reflects the image of Christ. We meet Wednesday evenings at 6:30-7:45 PM in the chapel. Childcare is provided. The LCMC NW District Gathering will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church in Kalispell, MT, on April 17-19. Early registration cost is $50 per person before March 17. For more details see the poster on the bulletin board in the Resource Center in the Prince of Peace fellowship area.
