“We at St. Ann’s welcome you.
Residents of Dayton and Silver City got
together for the purpose of bringing a
church to Dayton. The old Catholic hall
from Yerington was acquired and moved
to Pike Street in downtown Dayton in
1937. St. Ann’s was upgraded from a
mission to a parish August 14, 1996.”

Today’s Readings
Deuteronomy 18:15-20 1 Corinthians 7:32-35 Mark 1:21-28
That is the powerful significance of the sentence in today’s Gospel, “ The people were astonished at his teaching, for he taught
them as one having authority and not as the scribes.” The people knew that this Jesus was authentic – truly a teacher sent by
God. They knew it by hearing him.
FR. TOM’S MESSAGE
St. Ann’s Families
Even the devil can recognize Jesus as Lord. However, we
know that just recognition is not enough. We need to be
amazed. Jesus teaches. We learn. We recognize His
teaching in the Bible and the constant teaching of the
community of Believers He established through the
apostles. The bible is sacred. The Spirit continues and
assures the teaching of the community. We ask “how are
we being taught today?”
Let’s get to know each other! We are asking all families to
complete a “Getting to Know You” form for the new family
bulletin board.
Vamos a empezar a concocer unos a otros! Estamos
pidiendo a todas las familias que llenen un formulario de
“Getting to Know You” para el nuevo tablón de anuncios de
la familia.

SOME THOUGHTS FROM FR. TOM:
-
-
-
-
Please drive slowly in the parking lot. Some of us old
folks don’t move quickly. Por favor, maneje despacio en
el estacionamiento. Algunos de nosotros los viejos no se
mueven rápidamente.
You remark to me regularly how we are “family.” Your
observations are precious. Usted me comenta
regularmente cómo somos "familia". Sus observaciones
son preciosas.
Remember how you are to return to your place after
receiving the Holy Eucharist. Recuerde cómo debes
volver a su lugar después de recibir la Sagrada
Eucaristía.
There is Bible Study every Monday at 10:30 a.m. Habrá
estudio del Catecismo de la Iglesia cada viernes a las
6:30 p.m.
