Have you ever wanted to travel to China? A unique opportunity to travel to China and attend the 11 annual Shanghai International Youth Interactive Friendship Camp will happen July 21 to 30, 2015. The cost of the camp is sponsored by the Government of British Columbia so students interested would only need to pay for air fare and spending money. Students will visit famous spots in Shanghai and learn about Chinese traditional culture as well as share their own culture with students from around the world. If you are interested, please see Ms. Mulrooney in room 403 for more information. 2. An unclaimed ring and necklace were left in the PE Office before Christmas. Please go to the office to identify. 3. Any students who have an ILC Block next semester should be registering for their courses in the next week or two. Please see Mrs. Corman in Room 400 for help. 4. Interact Club is selling Mr. Noodle cups in the front foyer for $1.00 each Friday this week. Hot water and cutlery provided. 5. A REMINDER that the library at lunch is for students working on school work or reading. CAREER CENTRE/ WORK EXPERIENCE 1. There is a volunteer opportunity for a student photography/videographer for the VI Riders Snowboard Club. Any interested students, please come to the Career Centre. 2. Too Good to Be Threw Thrift Shop in Courtenay is looking for volunteers to help out with sorting, pricing, arranging, clean up and other duties as required. Please contact the Work Experience Office for more information and to pick up an application form. 3. The next Comox Valley Blood Donor Clinic will take place February 3-5th at the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay. This is the first clinic that counts toward the 2015 Comox Valley Secondary School Challenge. Staff, students, friends and family are invited to donate blood on behalf of Isfeld Secondary School. The winning school will receive $150 at the end of the challenge. Member registration forms are available on the school website or in the Work Experience Office. Blood donors must indicate their preferred school in a sign-in binder at the blood clinic. Help support your school by donating blood. It’s in you to give. Call 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283). 4.
