The Calgary Airport Authority is leading an exciting expansion program at YYC worth over two billion dollars. With
the recent opening of Canada’s longest runway and the construction of a new international terminal, this is an

The Role:
The Information Technology Operational Systems (ITOS) Coordinator is part of a team, responsible for ensuring the
uninterrupted operations of the YYC and YBW campus telecommunications infrastructure and over 40 systems in
the ITOS portfolio. These positions use a master planning approach and a complete systems life cycle focus to
ensure that current and future campus infrastructure and ITOS system needs are met.
This position will manage and oversee all the communication rooms, core rooms, and cable plant on airport campus.
Reporting to the ITOS Manager, this position has the following primary duties:
1. Manage and maintain access control to all the communication and core rooms. Ensure only the appropriate
personnel have access to these rooms.
2. Ensure the communication and core rooms are maintained to a safe and satisfactory condition.
3. On an ongoing basis, evaluate the requirements for all the rooms and look for opportunities to consolidate.
4. Develop and maintain corporate policies and work procedures regarding security, maintenance, access,
cabling standards and power standards in relation to these rooms.
5. Act as main point of contact with the Facility Electrical team to ensure appropriate power systems are in
place to operate these rooms and ensure all communications and core rooms have sufficient power and UPS
now and into the future.
6. Develop and maintain cabling standards campus wide, create a long-term plan to remediate and manage
existing cable plant, and ensure new cable infrastructure meets the Authority’s needs into the future.
7. Work with the Planning and Engineering department to ensure new construction projects meet minimum
standards, such as communication room size, HVAC, cabling, power.
8. Work directly with contractors until assignments are satisfactorily completed.
9. Review and maintain related electrical drawing documentation and projects.
Basic Requirements:
 University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or equivalent in related industry
experience.
 Experience with network equipment in a campus environment.
 Basic knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK©) and ability to implement these
guidelines into every day practices.
 Available for support calls at home, or onsite to address issues during off-hours, weekends and holidays.
 Excellent interpersonal skills; able to deal with a wide variety of stakeholders in a professional manner.
 Excellent organization and time management skills for dealing with multiple priorities in a busy work
environment.
 Ability to document, communicate and demonstrate experience in the planning, design, and implementation
of requirements across a wide variety of voice and data systems.
Additional Requirements:
 Cable management skills and experience managing fiber & copper in a data centre environment.
 Good knowledge and experience in Moves Adds and Changes, Support, Racking and Stacking, patching
and dressing cables into cabinets.
 Knowledge and experience of airport telecommunication or emergency communication used in essential
services such as police, fire, and rescue services would be an asset.
 A working knowledge of UPS systems, standby generator systems, and associated switch gear.
 A working knowledge of pumps, compressors, boilers, chillers, facilities HVAC systems.
 A working knowledge of sprinkler systems/ fire alarms systems testing, building management systems.
 Certifications in Networking, Network Security, Network Security, or Public Safety Communications would be
an asset.
