The2014FarmBillexpandedCSP’sconservationactivitylistthatoffersparticipantsmoreoptionstomeet theirconservationneedsandprotectthenaturalresourcesontheirland.Theseconservationactivities, calledenhancements,includecovercrops,intensiverotationalgrazing,andwildlifefriendlyfencing. FarmersandforestlandownersinterestedinsubmittingapplicationsforCSPshouldmakeanappointment withthelocalNRCSconservationisttocompletearesourceinventoryoftheirlandtodeterminethe conservationperformanceforexistingandnewconservationactivities.Thisinformationwillbeusedto establishprogrameligibility,rankapplications,andcalculatepayments. LandownersmayalsouseaCSPself‐screeningchecklisttodetermineiftheprogramissuitablefortheir operation.ThechecklisthighlightsbasicinformationaboutCSPeligibilityrequirements,stewardship thresholdrequirements,andpaymenttypes.
