Genesis 2015 College Student Juried Exhibition Exhibition Dates: April 4-26, 2015 Sponsored by the Rona M. & Erwin B. Drucker Charitable Trust . Eligibility Competition is open to students enrolled in Christopher Newport University, Hampton University, The College of William and Mary, and Thomas Nelson Community College. Entry Rules (Please read carefully) 1. All works must be ORIGINAL, that is, a unique image created by the student. Manipulations of copyrighted images and reproductions will not be accepted. 2. Each student may submit two entries. 3. Works in any medium are eligible. 4. Size restrictions, no more than: 24” x 30” inches for 2-dimensional works; 20” x 20” x 20” for 3-dimensional works. 5. Complete the entry form and attach identification label to the upper back (2-D) or bottom (3-D). 6. All work must have been completed during Summer 2014 or the 2014-15 school year. 7. All entries must be ready to exhibit. All 2D works must be matted. Students are encouraged to frame and wire their work for hanging. Or, work can be covered with clear acetate with NO hangers; they will be installed by PFAC with L-hooks. And please, no sawtooth hangers. 8. No exhibited or sold works may be removed before the close of the exhibition. Responsibility Although reasonable care will be taken, Peninsula Fine Arts Center does not assume responsibility for lost or damaged works Jurors: James Warwick Jones, Artist, Gallery Manager at the Charles Taylor Art Center James Warwick Jones studied painting at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts from 1965-68 with Will Barnet, Hobson Pittman, Louis Sloan and Walter Stuempfig. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from ODU with a BS degree in Secondary Art Education in 1971. After teaching in public schools and working 25 years at arts centers and museums, he is currently Gallery Manager at The Charles H. Taylor Arts Center in Hampton, Virginia. As a realist painter over the past 50 years, he has exhibited in more than 250 exhibitions and won over 150 awards. His work is in public and private collections, including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Awards All works selected by the juror will be displayed in the Ascending and Halsey Gallery of the Peninsula Fine Arts Center April 4-26, 2015. At the discretion of the juror, the following awards will be presented: Best in Show $300 First Place $250 Second Place $200 Third Place $150 Fourth Place $100 The David J. Levinson Award in Photography is given in his memory by an anonymous donor. Delivery & Pickup of Work Students will be charged a $10 storage fee for work left 7 days after designated pick up dates.
