The role: This is an exciting new post with responsibility for assisting on effective internal and external communications, supporting the development and production of high quality communication materials, using diverse communications tools to increase understanding of key development issues in Myanmar and gathering stories and evidence to support and improve Oxfam’s work in Myanmar. The role will work as part of the Policy and Communications team under Oxfam’s Communications and Media lead. Support to programme learning Work closely with communications and media officer and programme quality team to develop effective and exciting stories of how change happens, to improve programme quality and provide accountability to supporters and donors Support communications and media officer and programme leads with documentation of programmatic learning for communications purposes Support communications and media officer to maintain a story, photographic and physical library 2. Internal Communications Work with communications and media officer to produce and disseminate regular internal communications materials including newsletters, stories and updates Carry out regular media tracking and provide updates to staff Assist with the design of high quality communication materials Oversee translation of communications products Support communications and media officer and global communications and media leads to deliver communications and media related trainings Support programme staff to document and disseminate programme events 3. External Communications Assist communications and media officer to produce key communications products such as brochures, maps, presentations, information, education and communications (IEC) materials, fact sheets and programme support materials Support the administration of Oxfam in Myanmar’s facebook page SKILLS AND COMPETENCE: A university degree or relevant skills and experiences in communications, media and development Demonstrated skills and experience in communications and media An understanding of development, gender issues and rights-based approaches Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills, and confidence in working with people from a range of countries and cultures Fluency in written Myanmar and English and good in spoken English Ability to travel frequently and at short notice including to remote locations Experience working for a development agency would be an asset nd Closing date: 2 February 2015, 5:00 PM How to apply: Please state applied position in email subject line and send to Human Resources Department through [email protected] (OR) Oxfam office, Lanmadaw Plaza, Tower A- #02-01, #02-02, Tower B- #02-01, Corner of Lanmadaw Street and Mahabandula Road, Latha Township 11131, Yangon, Myanmar.
