LADIES LUNCHEON
IS FEBRUARY 4
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Our monthly dinner meetings at the Elks Lodge are getting off
to a great start. The food was excellent, and Steve Belochi
gave us a very interesting video of the wildlife that frequent his
yard. Our attendance count was 58! – a really good number.
Our caterer was impressed with the turnout, especially since
we had told him that our average (except for Christmas) was
about 40. I am already looking forward to the Valentine’s dinner
party in February. Judy Hamilton and Janeen Herig are working
on the plans now.
There are plenty of other activities going on in February, as you
will see in the following pages. Of special note is a Celebration
of Life for Diane Maxwell at the Elks Lodge from 2PM to 5PM
on February 7th.
At the dinner meeting, Bill Beard
signed up to be our Activities Board
member for 2015 and Barbara Bristow signed up to do the March activity, our only remaining vacancy.
There is a separate article listing our
planned 2015 monthly activities.
When: Wednesday, February 4, 11:30 am
Where:
My Garden Cafe
(Next to the Aladdin Hotel)
14270 Mono Way, Sonora
RSVP:
by Friday January 30th to
Patti Rittenhouse at
[email protected] or
209-770-6390
The February TCNC Ladies Luncheon is
being organized by Patti Rittenhouse, Linda
Kofoed, and Adrianne Souza.
We will be sitting in the side room and ordering off the menu with separate checks.
Bill Beard
Last year, I said the following for the February newsletter: “We
are all enjoying this nice weather we are having – probably too
much, since we need to get some rain and snow soon.” Things
haven’t changed much weather-wise, have they? Speaking of
Activities, maybe our club needs to do a group rain dance out in
the forest somewhere. Let’s hope we can somehow soon get
lots of rain and snow without that.
Hope to see you there!

Ladies Luncheon Coordinator

DINNER MEETING
Ruthell and Susan were
delighted to have such a pleasant and delicious outcome for the first dinner at our new venue, Sonora
Elks Club. Everyone seemed pleased with the food;
Susan’s Salmon was “fabulous,” Ruthell loved the
chicken! In addition to plentiful, good food, our new
venue provides a comfortable view of the speaker’s
presentation, a refreshing change. Thanks to everyone for the enthusiastic response. We had 58 attendees! That number sounds more like a Valentine’s
Dinner Meeting than just the regular monthly dinner
meeting! Let’s keep it up! Please note: In the future, if
you have a suggestion for or a problem with the catering staff, address it to Susan or Ruthell, as we are
working hard to retain what is a wonderful working
relationship, and we always want to be kind and professional.
We return to our new venue, the Sonora Elks Lodge to
celebrate Valentine’s Day a little late, Wednesday,
February 18 (always the 3rd Wednesday of the
month). The social hour begins at 6 PM and dinner is
served at 7 PM. The special pricing for Valentine’s
Day includes a Prime Rib Entrée at $26.50 and a
Half Chicken, lemon roasted at $22 per person
which includes tax and gratuity.
Check-in goes faster if you write your check before
arrival. If you pay in cash, please bring the exact
amount. (We have decided that we will no longer be
making change, so please plan ahead and be sure to
bring the exact amount or a check made out to
TCNC.)
The format is a served dinner, so when you make your
reservation, please specify your entree choice. There
is a bar where you can purchase wine, beer, or cocktails. The social hour is also a good time to buy your
raffle tickets from Leah Decker. The raffle will be the
“50-50” format, so by purchasing a ticket, you may win
and cover the cost of your dinner or more!
