To remain in the Optional Programs, students must maintain the program requirements, a C or above in each course for the semester, and satisfactory conduct and attendance (including promptness to school and each class). East High School offers an outstanding Optional Program in Engineering, preparing students for success in their post-secondary studies and future careers. Preparing for the Future Students in the Engineering Optional Program are introduced to career opportunities in engineering, design, and technology. A full Honors curriculum emphasizes science, technology, engineering processes and mathematics to prepare students for success in the post-secondary and professional arenas of engineering. For students who wish to get a head start on their college career, East High plans to offer Dual Enrollment opportunities. Graduates of the Engineering program are recruited by universities across the United States. In addition to core subjects and courses related to the school’s Optional Programs, East offers a wide variety of electives, including a strong art program in which students frequently produce award-winning artwork.
