Bethel Park School District January 2015 Highlights Please enjoy reading about the outstanding achievements of our students and staff! DECA Students Partner With Chamber Of Commerce For ‘Shop Local’ Campaign BPHS seniors Cassie Brown, Abby Hartzell and Kelsey Tischler partnered with the Bethel Park Chamber of Commerce on a “Shop Local” campaign. The students developed two online surveys—one for consumers to gauge their interest in supporting Bethel Park businesses and the other for businesses to find out what they need from the Chamber. The students coordinated a Santa Breakfast for 92 children. The BPHS lobby was decorated with 10 artificial trees, generously donated by Chamber businesses and decorated by BPHS student groups. The trees were raffled off, with the money going directly to the student groups. The DECA tree was decorated with $5 gift certificates from Bethel Park businesses, to encourage people to “shop local.” Cassie, Abby and Kelsey were happy to participate in this project, which gave them hands-on experience in a real-world situation. 65 BPHS DECA Students Qualify For State Conference Seventy-five Bethel Park High School students finished in Fifth Place or higher at the DECA District Conference, with 65 students qualifying to compete in the DECA State Conference in Hershey in February.
