PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW ; PRAISE HIM ALL CREATURES HERE BELOW ; PRAISE HIM ABOVE YE HEAVENLY
HOST, PRAISE FATHER, SON AND HOLY GHOST. AMEN.
* CALL TO WORSHIP
Minister:
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!” Our feet have been
standing within your gates, O Jerusalem!
People:
For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper
in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Minister:
For the sake of the house of the Lord our God; I will seek your good.
People:
They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God.
Minister:
O Lord, I love the habitation of your house, and the place where your glory dwells.
People:
But the Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him.
Minister:
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer.
People:
O sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things! I will sing of loyalty and of
justice, to you, O Lord, I will sing.
HYMN OF PRAISE
AMEC HYMN #12 — O WORSHIP THE KING
1. O worship the King, all glorious above, O gratefully singing His power and His love; Our Shield and
Defender, the Ancient of Days, Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.
2. O tell of His might, O sing of His grace, Whose robe is the light, whose canopy space; His chariots of wrath
the deep thunder clouds form, And dark is His path on the wings of the storm.
3. Thy bountiful care what tongue can recite? It breathes in the sir, it shines in the light; It streams from the
hills, it descends to the plain, And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.
4. Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail, In Thee do we trust, nor find Thee to fail; Thy mercies how tender,
how firm to the end, Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend.
Amen

THE RESPONSIVE SCRIPTURE
1 CORINTHIANS 8:1-13
1
Minister: Now concerning food sacrificed to idols: we know that "all of us possess knowledge."
Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. 2 Anyone who claims to know something does not yet
have the necessary knowledge; 3 but anyone who loves God is known by him.
People: 4 Hence, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that "no idol in the world really exists," and that
"there is no God but one."
Minister: 5 Indeed, even though there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth--as in fact there are
many gods and many lords-- 6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things
and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through
whom we exist.
People: 7 It is not everyone, however, who has this knowledge. Since some have become so accustomed to idols
until now, they still think of the food they eat as food offered to an idol; and their conscience, being weak,
is defiled.
Minister: 8 "Food will not bring us close to God." We are no worse off if we do not eat, and no better off if
we do. 9 But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to
the weak.
People: 10 For if others see you, who possess knowledge, eating in the temple of an idol, might they not, since
their conscience is weak, be encouraged to the point of eating food sacrificed to idols? 11 So by your
knowledge those weak believers for whom Christ died are destroyed.
Minister: 12 But when you thus sin against members of your family, and wound their conscience when it
is weak, you sin against Christ.
13
All: Therefore, if food is a cause of their falling, I will never eat meat, so that I may not cause one of
them to fall.

JESUS SAVES
PRAYER OF SALVATION
Dear Lord, I recognize that I am a sinner. Lord, I am sorry for my sins, and I am ready to change my life. I
accept your forgiveness. I confess with my mouth that you are Lord, and I believe in my heart that God
raised you from the dead; therefore, according to the word I am saved. The Bible says “if any person be in
Christ he or she is a new creation, the old is passed away and behold all things become new.” Lord, I
thank you for my salvation.
†AFFIRMATION OF
FAITH
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only son our
Lord who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was
crucified, dead; and buried. The third day he arose from the dead; he ascended into heaven and sitteth at
the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I
believe in the Holy Spirit, the Church Universal, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sin, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.
†HOLY
COMMUNION
THE GENERAL CONFESSION
Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Maker of all things, Judge of all people, we acknowledge and
bewail our manifold sin and wickedness which we from time to time most grievously have committed by
thought, word and deed against Your divine Majesty, provoking most justly Your wrath and indignation
against us. We do earnestly repent and are heartily sorry for these our misdoings; the remembrance of them
is grievous unto us. Have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us, most merciful Father for Your Son our Lord
Jesus Christ’s sake; forgive us all that is past, and grant that we may ever hereafter serve and please You in
newness of life, to the honor and glory of Your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

for donations of $10 per book. We would love to
see everyone get involved by filling out a
