Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions. 2. The promoter is Whittlesea City Council, 25 Ferres Boulevard, South Morang 3752 3. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights under these terms and conditions at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. 4. Competition commences 10 February 2015 and ends at 5pm Friday, 10 April 2015. Only entries that are received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions during the promotion period will be eligible for entry. 5. Entry is open to residents of all ages whose cat or dog is registered in the City of Whittlesea area and microchipped, but excludes employees and Councillors of the City of Whittlesea. 6. Entrants under 18 years old must have parental/guardian approval to enter and further, the parent/guardian of the entrant must read and consent to the Terms and Conditions. Entrants should be aware that a breach of this consent requirement will result in the entrant being disqualified. The promoter reserves the right to contact the parent or guardian to confirm acceptance of the terms and conditions. Photo submission 1. Take a photo of your cat or dog and post it to Council’s Facebook page or your Twitter account with the hashtag #whittlesealovespets and mention @CityWhittlesea. 2. Each entry must be accompanied by the pet’s name and suburb (photo description/comments are optional). 3. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and personal details concerning entrants and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. 4. Images entered must have been photographed by the entrant; entries by third parties are not eligible. 5. No digital manipulation is permitted (ie: cutting out elements, adding elements or undertaking any creative interpretations). Basic colour correction, colour enhancement and HDR is permitted. All image details must be correct at the time of entry. 6. Each entrant may enter only 1 photo per pet. No image can be entered more than once. 7. By entering a photograph you are acknowledging that the photograph was taken by yourself, and is not from copyrighted sources. The entrant as a condition of entering the competition accepts that all entries become the property of the Promoter (Whittlesea City Council). The Promoter reserves the rights to publish all photos that have been submitted via its Facebook page or Twitter feed; printed publications and the Whittlesea City Council website. All submitted photos will be filed in Council’s Corporate Image Library for possible future use in Council publications/promotions. The photographer will be credited where possible. 8. The City of Whittlesea reserves the right to make minor edits to the photo such as colour correction or spot/artefact removal. The Promoter retains the right to crop the image for reproduction processes. 9. Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness and/or image in the event they are a winner (including photograph) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this promotion (including any outcome). Judging & Prizes 1. All photos submitted will be uploaded to Council’s Facebook page and the community will vote on their favourite by ‘Liking’ the photo. The 3 finalists will be the pets whose photos receive the highest number of photo ‘Likes’. 2. Judging of prize winners will take place by Friday, 24 April 2015 at Whittlesea City Council, 25 Ferres Boulevard, South Morang and will be conducted by a panel of appointed judges comprised of City of Whittlesea employees. 3. Each of the 3 finalist entries will be individually judged on artistic and creative merit by a panel of judges appointed by the City of Whittlesea. The judging panel will choose the first, second and third prize winners from the 3 finalists. These images will be featured in a future edition of the Whittlescene community newsletter. The panel’s decision is final and correspondence will not be entered in to. 4. The judging process will be undertaken collaboratively with the entire judging panel being actively involved and contributing to the judging process. 5. Winners will receive a pet shop gift voucher to the value of $400 (first), $200 (second) and $100 (third). The total prize pool value is $700. 6. Prizes, or any unused portion of a prize, are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. 7. If any prize (or part of any prize) is unavailable, the Promoter in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification. 8. All winners will be notified by the reposting of their photo on Council’s Facebook page and contact being made via the entrant’s Facebook or Twitter account (depending on their submission method) by Friday, 1 May 2015. 9. The prizes will be available for collection from the Whittlesea City Council office, located at – 25 Ferres Boulevard, South Morang, 3752, VIC. 10. The promoter reserves the right to forfeit prize/s in the event of an entrant being unable to satisfy these promotion terms and conditions or not claiming a prize. For any prize that remains unclaimed on 8 May 2015 they will become void. No further winners will be announced. 11. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions will be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. 12. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant. 13. Any ancillary costs associated with redeeming the prize are not included. Redemption of the prize is subject to any terms and conditions of the issuer including those specified on the voucher. Information Privacy Statement The personal information you provide will be handled in accordance with privacy laws and Council’s Information Privacy Policy. Your contact details will be used to process your entry and to contact you in the event that you win the competition. Your personal information and the photos submitted will be stored on Council files and disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the Public Records Act 1973.
