The opening page of our website has changed. I set Oak Class the challenge to write the first page of the
website and the high quality responses are fantastic. Congratulations to Thomas in Year 6 who has been
selected as our first introduction to Sparsholt School. The page will change regularly so do keep having a
look to see what the children think about our school.
I hope that the parents of Beech Class enjoyed the Great Fire of London Chocolate Shop experience this
week. I am sure that the children were able to share lots of interesting facts about The Great Fire.
Rowan Class enjoyed their visit to Andover Museum and Danebury Iron Age Hillfort; and Year 6 have also
been busy wall climbing at Sparsholt College on Thursday. I hear a fantastic time was had by all!
It is the weekend of Crawley Village Pantomime. I know a number of our children and parents will be taking
part. As they say’ ‘Break a leg’!
Kind regards
Lindsay McCarthy (Head Teacher)
Homework Club – Wednesday 11th February
Apologies, but due to unforeseen circumstances, homework club has to be cancelled next week, 11th

Sainsbury’s Active Kids
Yes, it’s that time of year again! Active Kids vouchers are now available to collect from Sainsbury’s
stores, petrol stations and when ordering online. The scheme finishes on Tuesday 5th May so plenty of
time to collect vouchers and return to school (a collection box is in reception). Please ask friends and
family to donate their vouchers to us! Last year’s total of 8,000 vouchers meant we were able to purchase a
tri-ball set for the school.
Key Stage 2 Tests Information Evening for parents of year 6
The KS2 tests parents information evening will be held on Monday 9th February at 6.30pm in Oak class.
If you have not already returned your reply slip we would be grateful if you could let us know whether you
are coming.
Messy Love
Messy Church comes to Littleton Millennium Memorial Hall on Valentine's Day (Saturday 14th February),
4-6pm. We shall be looking at the theme of "Love" with the usually crafts, Celebration and meal. All
welcome - children must be accompanied. Activities are provided free of charge but donations are welcome
towards the cost of the meal. For more information please contact Carol Coleman:

Invoice Payments
As the financial year end fast approaches we would appreciate prompt payment of lunch, music, uniform
and club invoices outstanding and voluntary trip donations , thank –you. Please contact the school office if
you have mislaid an invoice or have a query about an invoice.
£500 fundraising opportunity for our school!
Charters Estate agents have very kindly offered to sponsor our 80s disco night on Saturday 28th March, to
the tune of £500, in return for being able to put branded boards, publicising our event, in 20 road side
locations. Obviously this is a great opportunity for us to raise substantial money with minimal effort, as
well as boosting ticket sales for the event itself. We very much hope that as many of possible of you will be
able to volunteer a board location.
The boards will go up approximately 2 weeks before the event - so c.14th March - and come down around
a week after the event - first week of April.
Please email [email protected] as soon as possible with your full address and postcode,
if you are able to help with this. Please also feel free to forward on to non-parent supporters of the school if
you think they would be willing to help- anything to get us to that all-important 20 total!
