Tickets are $5.00 per person. Mardi Gras Celebration Originally, the night prior to Ash Wednesday was a time to celebrate God’s love for humanity in Jesus Christ. Our Choir and Music Team plan to reclaim this musical traditions with a service combining jazz, gospel and spirituals that give a voice to our faith. The Service is planned for Shrove Tuesday evening at 7 PM following the Pancake Supper. Ash Wednesday February 18th is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the Church’s season of 40 Days of Lent. To mark this day, we will have a service of Holy Communion and the Imposition of Ashes at 12:00 PM. Please come and bring your neighbors and friends to this traditional service of worship. All are welcome! Stations of the Cross The Stations of the Cross is a meditation on our Lord’s last day of suffering. It is a profound spiritual experience. Stations of the Cross will meet every Friday at 5:00 p.m. in the Church from February 20th through March 27th and each day during Holy Week, except Good Friday when it will follow the Good Friday noon service. Vestry Installation St. George Episcopal Church’s incoming class of Vestry will be installed at today’s 10:00 a.m. service. We would like to welcome Jan Head, Bob Hasbrouck and Walter Martin. Wednesday Bible Study The Wednesday Bible Study “In the Dust of the Rabbi” continues this week as historian Ray Vander Laan brings travelers to ancient Bethsaida. Jesus gives His followers two commands, “Come” and “Go”. Come at 10:00 AM on Wednesday to consider your call as Christ’s disciple to “Come, follow Him.” Healing Service Healing service is every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the Church. Everyone is welcome. Prayer Station At the 10:00 a.m. service there is a person, who stands near the votive candles, available to offer healing prayers for you or one you love. All are welcome. Invitation to Communion All baptized Christians are welcome to receive the real and living presence of Christ in this Holy Communion. To receive the Bread, extend your hands upward, palms crossed. When receiving the Wine, please guide the chalice as it is offered. If you prefer, you may leave the Bread on your palm for the person administering the chalice to dip into the Wine and place on your tongue. Anyone may come forward for a prayer for God’s blessing in lieu of receiving Communion. Please indicate your desire for a prayer for God’s blessing by crossing your arms on your chest. Ladies are encouraged to blot lipstick before receiving Communion. Ushers will direct the congregation to receive Communion.
