It is open to artists of all nationalities born after 1985, 22th April. The competition will award 3 prizes (1st, 2nd and 3rd), as well as a few special prizes. The competition will take place in Lyon, France, from 2015 April, Wednesday 22th to Sunday 26th. The organizers of the competition reserve the right to pre-select candidates. Candidates will be informed by e-mail of their admittance by 3rd March 2015. Application fees will be refunded if candidates are not admitted to the competition. TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION Candidates will pay their own travel and accommodation costs. A list of hotels will be communicated when enrolment is confirmed. REGISTRATION Contestants must register and present ID at the competition secretariat on April, Wednesday 22nd, between 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lots will be drawn at 5:00 p.m. to determine order of play. REHEARSALS Rehearsal rooms will be available to candidates from April, Wednesday 22nd from 2:00 p.m. and throughout the period of the competition. The competition organisers will provide a schedule to ensure equal use of rehearsal rooms. COMPETITION PROCEDURE You will be advised of the place of the competition, when we will confirm your participation. All rounds will be open to the public. All candidates, with no exception, must take part in the qualifying round. The jury reserves the right to interrupt the contestants’ performance or to select some movements from the pieces chosen. The order of the selected pieces is left to the discretion of the candidates. The prizes/awards will be attributed by the jury, except for the Public Award which will be attributed by the public through individual ballot during the finals and the Websurfers award which will be attributed by University Lumière Lyon 2 websurfers. Candidates will be informed of the details of those different awards with their admittance. The prizes/awards must be shared equally between the members of the quartet. Award winners must be present to receive their prizes and must play freely an excerpt from their competition program, as approved by the organisers of the concert. The concert will be probably broadscasted by France Musique on May 2015 (Gaëlle Le Gallic program). DELIBERATIONS The jury will be made up of 7 or more personalities from the music world, selected by the competition management. The president of the jury will be nominated by the competition management or elected by the members of the jury. The jury will deliberate at the end of each round. The jury reserves the right not to award all of the prizes. The decisions of the jury are final. 6 RECORDINGS AND BROADCASTS Competition organisers reserve the right to record all or part of the competition using photographic or video technology, for advertising, archives, television, internet or radio broadcasting in accordance with the rights of French musicians (article L 212-3, Intellectual Property Code). OBLIGATIONS Registration for the competition implies that candidates agree to and accept all of the articles of these rules. The French version of these rules takes precedence. Disputes will be settled by the authorities in Lyons.
