March 19-20, 2015
Crowne Plaza Hotel, 830 Phillips Lane, Louisville, KY
We are looking for success stories!
WE NEED YOU (self-advocates/families/friends/teachers/groups/agencies) to share information
about how people who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities are living lives that reflect
the values of inclusive communities and quality lives.
Stories can be about any area of life including but not limited to:
ŠInclusive schooling
ŠEmployment/Self-employment
ŠVolunteer work
ŠRecreation/leisure
ŠPursuing Hobbies
ŠAttending College
ŠCommunity involvement
ŠChurch/Faith community
ŠAdvocating for Change
ŠLiving more independently
ŠHome Ownership
ŠFulfilling a Dream
The poster session is a forum for sharing how things can be done-no matter how difficult –and a
place to network with other conference participants who are interested in finding out more.
People can use posters, videos/DVDs, samples, anything that will help tell the success story and give
others some ideas on how to get started or how to avoid pitfalls. (You will need to bring your own
equipment –laptop, dvd player, etc.). We will provide a table, two chairs and an electrical outlet (if
needed)
Because this is a conference session designed for sharing information we ask that you do not sell
anything. People who have their own business are welcome to hand out cards and other information
about their business. If you would like to sell at this conference you can register as an exhibitor or
participate in the Self-Advocates Market Place. Please contact the Arc for more information.
This conference session is scheduled for 4:15 – 5:30 pm. on Thursday, March 19, 2015.
WE CAN’T PROVIDE transportation, hotel accommodations or any other expenses. We can direct
you to some possible sources for those costs.
Please fill out the attached form by January 15, 2015 and mail or email it to The Arc of Kentucky,
