Judge: Elaine Clark
It was a great pleasure to be invited to judge the Bull Terrier Fanciers Association Inc Bull Terrier
and Miniature Bull Terrier Specialty show on Sunday 4 th May. It was a friendly and well-organised
event and I enjoyed the judging immensely.
Junior Puppy Dog
Connor’s DANCINGB’S ANGUS MACFERGUS (CH DancingB’s Two BarrelBoomerang ex
DancingB’s Pandora) Smart red and white, head long and wide with a perfect mouth, would benefit
from a little more arc and fill. Excellent bone and substance and well constructed all through, when
on the move he was a little close in front but very good behind.
Senior Puppy Dog
1) Bassakyros’ BULDOR ANARCHY (Emred Devil’s Spy ex CH Bullayr Piece of my Heart at
Buldor) Lovely and very typey white youngster with the ‘wow’ factor. 9 months old, very wellbalanced, terrier type with an excellent head, having correct arc, width and fill – mouth is level.
Good shoulder, front and topline, he moved well in front and was sound if a little ‘loose’ behind.
Exuberant showman who was expertly handled to get the very best out of him – he pushed hard in
the final challenge for best dog but just lost out on maturity, I was very pleased to award him Best
Puppy and Reserve Winners Dog.
2) Robichaud’s BULDOR COVERT AFFAIR (Emred Devil’s Spy ex CH Bullayr Piece of my
Heart at Buldor) Brother to the winner but of a more heavyweight type, strong masculine head with
correct profile, not quite the fill of the winner but with a correct scissor bite, although one canine a
little tight. Again well made, he also moved well in front but a little close behind – a quality
puppy.
OPEN DOG
1) Uplinger and Emett’s BROOKBULLY BIG BANG (Emperor of the Sun Opalplast ex
Brookbully Back to Basics) Super, masculine all white with a strong, powerful and masculine head
with arc, width and fill. Mouth level. Very typey, excellent bone and substance, good length of
neck and correct shoulder, straight front and correct topline, he moved very well both ways.
Outgoing showman who was very well handled, I was pleased to award him Winners Dog, Best of
Winners and Best of Breed.
2) Eltherington’s MAGOR MOVES LIKE JAGGER (Megaville’s Visions ex CH Magor Moulin
Rouge) Very masculine white with super bone and substance. Head is strong and wide but would
benefit from more arc and fill, mouth is level. Well made all thru with straight front and strong
quarters, he moved very well both ways.
Junior Puppy Bitch
1) Connor’s DANCINGB’S BEAR NECESSITY (CH DancingB’s Two BarrelBoomerang ex
DancingB’s Pandora) Feminine Br/W with a lovely head, having correct arc, width and fill, mouth
is undershot. Well constructed all thru with excellent bone and substance she moved well both
ways
Senior Puppy Bitch
1) Bassakyros’ BULDOR DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER (Emred Devil’s Spy ex CH Bullayr
Piece of my Heart at Buldor) Very pretty, feminine white with a lovely head having correct arc,
width and fill. A classy bitch with excellent make and shape, good neck, shoulder, topline and
quarters, she was sound both ways, straight in front but a little close behind – perhaps due to having
a bit of a false pregnancy and being a little sloppy in the undercarriage. Looking at the catalogue I
see she is litter sister to the best puppy (dog) – what a lovely litter! Pleased to award her Winners
Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex.
2) Bassakyros’ BULDOR DEVIL IN A RED DRESS (Emred Devil’s Spy ex CH Bullayr Piece of
my Heart at Buldor) Another sibling and another good one who I liked a lot! This girl is a heavier,
more ‘bull’ type girl and, not surprisingly, a red and white. Super bone and substance, very typey
with a strong yet feminine head having correct arc, width and fill. Perhaps a little overweight today
which spoilt topline and just a little ‘gay’ in the tail but lots to like and I am sure she will do well.
Reserve Winners Bitch
Select Dog
Connor’s CH DANCINGB’S TWO BARRELBOOMERANG (CH Nimrod Beton Gully the
Great ex CH DancingB’s Lovable Lumina) A white dog, typey and smart, but needing to fill out
and mature.
Select Bitch
Weiss’ CH MEGAVILLE’S FORGET ME NOT (Taylajay Dream A Lie at Megaville ex Terjo’s
Here I Am at Megaville) A very classy white bitch, a very good head, with arc, width and fill plus
excellent make and shape and correct substance for size. She was a definite contender for Best
Bitch but was rather lack-lustre and sadly her handler wasn’t able to get the best out of her either on
the move or standing.
