toknoweachotherandhavebeguntodiveintothemanycurriculumstandardstheymustcoverthisschoolyear.
AttheendofSeptember,weadministeredourfirstMAPtestfortheschoolyear.Studentswereassessedin
Reading,Math,andLanguageAnalysis.Teachersarenowfacedwiththetaskofanalyzingthisdatatocreategoals
todrivetheirinstruction.However,thegoalsettingdoesnotstopthere!Studentsarealsoinchargeofanalyzing
theirdataandsettingacademicgoalsforthemselvesinordertohaveasenseofownershipoftheirlearning!!

Thereafter,teachersandstudentswillreviewtheMAPdatawithourparentsduringtheNovember3 parentteacherconferences.Weknowthatthiscollaborationbetweenstaff,students,andparentswillhelpour

lunch,studentsreceivethechoiceofeitherasalador2healthyentrées.Astheygothroughtheline,theyalso
chooseafruitandvegetablealongwitheither1%orskimmilk.

ocupadosconociéndoseyhanempezadoaaprenderlosnumerososestándarescurricularesquedebencubrireste
añoescolar.Afinalesdeseptiembre,administramosnuestraprimerapruebaMAPparaelañoescolar.Los
estudiantesfueronevaluadosenlectura,matemáticas,yelanálisisdellenguaje.Losmaestrosseenfrentanahora
conlatareadeanalizarestosdatosparacrearobjetivosparadirigirsuinstrucción.Sinembargo,elanalizodelos
datosnosedetieneahí!Losestudiantestambiénseencargandeanalizarsusdatosyhacersusmetasacadémicas
porsímismosconelfindetenerunsentidodepropiedaddesuaprendizaje!!Despuésdeeso,losprofesoresy
estudiantesrevisaránlosdatosdeMAPconlospadresdurantelasconferenciasdepadreymaestroeldía3de

recibenunplatillosaludableconfrutasyleche.Duranteelalmuerzo,losestudiantesrecibenlaopcióndeuna
ensaladao2platillossaludables.Cuandovanatravésdelalínea,tambiénelegíanunafrutayverdurajuntoconsu
lechede1%olechedescremada.
Sidecidenprepararunalmuerzoparasuhijo,porfavor,serconscientesdeloqueestánpreparandoparael
