Mary Agatha Furth Center
courtyard. All pets are welcome. In the past, we have
had horses, birds, hamsters and even fish! Please
make sure your pet is on a
leash and well-behaved. No
fee, No donation accepted.

Adult Spiritual Formation
This weekend the Adult Faith Formation Committee is presenting the parish adult faith sharing groups for the fall. Brochures
will be distributed after Mass and will be available in the church
lobby. We have planned a variety of opportunities on different
days and times. We invite you to find a group to meet your need
to grow in your faith. For those who can't make a group or want
help with daily reflection, there are also some online suggestions
which will bring spiritual reflection right to your PC or
smartphone.
Este fin de semana el Comité de Formación de Fe de Adultos
está presentando la fe parroquial de adultos compartiendo
grupos para el otoño. Los folletos se distribuirán después de la

Scriptures Insight
The scriptures today focus on the “chasm”
that can exist between those who are rich
and those who are poor – between those who
have lots of power and control and those who
have little power and control – between
those who are like Lazarus and those who are
like the rich man.
Catholic Social Teaching reminds us of God’s
invitation to have a special concern for the
poor – a special option for those who are in
any way poor and powerless or in need.
Catholic social teaching challenges us to
aware of and to do away with the chasms
which divide our world and its people. We
must allow the word and spirit of God to help
us to bridge the “chasms” that divide us and
not to create more “chasms.” Our world is
filled with chasms that divide people and
prevent all of God’s people from enjoying
justice and peace. This week reflect on whatever divisions there are in your life and how
can you bridge these.
