FIBA, a su presidente Horacio Muratore, Alberto
García, Gerasime Bozikis, hombres de baloncesto,
entregados a este deporte a cada instante. Valoro la
confianza que nos han dado como persona y como
presidente de un club entregado a esta disciplina.
Nos preparamos para el juego más importante de
nuestra historia. Guaros de Lara visitará al Fraport
Skyliners, campeón FIBA de Europa para definir el
nuevo monarca mundial. Este gran reto lo asumimos

golden page in its history.
Now is the turn again of GUAROS LARA,
CHAMPION

AMERICA
team,
who
will
ambassador for Professional Basketball League, in our
country and across the continent in the next edition of the
Intercontinental Cup to be held in Frankfurt, Germany.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the
authorities FIBA, its chairman Horacio Muratore,
Alberto Garcia, Gerasime Bozikis, men’s basketball,
devoted to the sport at every moment. I appreciate
the confidence they have given us as a person and as
president of a club delivered to this discipline.
We prepare for the biggest game of our history.
Guaros de Lara visits the Fraport Skyliners
champion FIBA Europe to define the new world
champion. I assume this challenge with the greatest
happiness that fits us in the chest, with optimism
characteristic of our people , with responsibility as a
sports organization.
No hay equipo deportivo alguno en Venezuela, con
semejante compromiso por delante, trabajamos para
esto, después de todo, nos levantamos de las derrotas
y seguimos haciendo camino.
Tengan la plena seguridad, que seguiremos avanzando, nos desterramos del fracaso para aprender y

En su haber figuran tres finales de Liga (2005-2006-2015), aún sin campeonato.
Ostenta una participación en Liga Sudamericana (2015), donde llegó a segunda
fase. Asimismo, ha participado en dos ediciones de Liga de Las Américas (20122016), logrando este 2016 por primera vez en la historia de un equipo venezolano,
el campeonato.

Guaros de Lara es un equipo perteneciente a la Liga Profesional de Baloncesto de Venezuela. Fue fundado en el año 2002,
pero en el 2012, comenzó una nueva era para la franquicia, con
la llegada del empresario Jorge Hernández, al adquirir el club.
Guaros de Lara Venezuelan Basketball Team was
founded in the year 2002. It plays in LPB League since then.
From the year 2012, It began a new era since the arrival of Jorge
Hernandez as a new owner.

franquicia de Guaros de Lara.

Es la Capital del Estado Lara, ubicada en el Centroccidente de Venezuela.
La han llamado la “ciudad de los crepusculos”, por las hermosas puestas de sol que le
caracterizan.
Por otro lado recibe el nombre de “capital musical de Venezuela”, por la gran cantidad
de músicos y sus expresiones culturales. En la actualidad es una de las ciudades
más importantes de Venezuela, con un enorme desarrollo industrial, económico y
cultural. Barquisimeto forma parte del Municipio Iribarren del estado Lara.
It is the capital of Lara state, located in the central west of Venezuela. It has been called the
“city of the sunsets” for the beautiful sunsets that characterize it.
On the other hand it called the “musical capital of Venezuela” for many musicians and cultural
expressions. Today it is one of the most important cities of Venezuela, with a huge industrial
park, economic and cultural development. Barquisimeto is part of the municipality Iribarren
Lara state.

Barquisimeto en la lengua indígena Caquetía corresponde a “río de aguas de color ceniza”,

de Nueva Segovia de Barquisimeto, en 1556, en el último emplazamiento de la ciudad.

DOME BOLIVARIANO
El Domo Bolivariano es un recinto deportivo ubicado en la ciudad de Barquisimeto, en
la Avenida Libertador, entre calles 37 y 39.
Fue creado en el año 1981, pero su inauguración oficial fue en 1982. Es la casa oficial de
Guaros de Lara, equipo que hace vida en
la Liga Profesional de Baloncesto (LPB) de
Venezuela.
Cuenta
con
capacidad
para
8000
espectadores. Su aforo se distribuye entre tres
localidades de sillas enumeradas; área de
gradas, VIP Plata y VIP Oro.
Desde la llegada de Jorge Hernández a la
Liga Profesional de Baloncesto en 2012, el
recinto deportivo ha sido remozado en todas sus áreas. Camerinos, gradas, baños,
depósitos, cancha, estacionamiento y áreas
comunes, han sido refaccionados para hacer
del emblemático gimnasio, un referente en
el país y fuera de él.
Es el único recinto con gigantescas pantallas de última generación para el espectáculo deportivo, y una cabina de producción
audiovisual.
El Domo Bolivariano ha sido epicentro de
eventos internacionales de gran relevancia dentro del mundo del baloncesto. Bajo
la era de Jorge Hernández, albergó tres
Campeonatos Suramericanos (U15 masc y
fem/Mayores femenino), dos Liga de Las
Américas –en 2016 las tres fases del evento-, y una edición de Liga Suramericana
–segunda ronda-.

Domo Bolivariano is a basketball arena
located in the city of Barquisimeto, Lara
state , Venezuela.It was built in 1981, but
its official opening was until 1982. It is the
official home of Guaros de Lara, a
Venezuelan Professional Basketball Team .
Total capacity 8000 spectators. It has three
official FIBA courts. Its capacity is distributed among three locations listed chairs; area
of bleachers, VIP silver and VIP Gold.
Since the arrival of Jorge Hernandez into
the Professional Basketball League in 2012,
an important investment has been made
to refurbish Dressing rooms, VIP harrows
, bathrooms, warehouse , Courts, parking
lot and common areas making this arena a
benchmark in Venezuela and abroad.
One main court equipped with Widescreen
and audiovisual production cabin and two
secondary court for practice and training
purpose.
Under Jorge Hernandez administration
Domo Bolivariano has been epicenter of
international events of high relevance in
the world of basketball. Three Sudamerica Championships (U15 men and fem /
adult female) ; Two League of the Americas-in 2016 (three complete phases of the
event) and a edition of Sudamerica League
-second round-.

Guaros de Lara no olvidará el 12 de marzo de 2016. Ese día se convirtió en el primer
equipo venezolano en levantar el trofeo del campeonato de clubes más prestigioso del
continente, al proclamarse campeón de América.
Guaros de Lara did not forget March 12, 2016. That day it became the first Venezuelan
team to lift the championship trophy most prestigious of the continent, to become champion of America clubs.
Los larenses clasificaron tras una primera vuelta donde despachó a Capitalinos de La
Habana (Cuba), a Capitanes de Arecibo (Puerto Rico) y caer frente a Uniceub (Brasil).
En la segunda fase Guaros figuraba como el único representante venezolano -tras la
eliminación de Marinos de Anzoátegui-. Entonces enfrentaron a Correcaminos Colón (Panamá) y a Flamengo y Uniceub (Brasil), logrando acceder a una instancia inédita: el Final Four.

Rodeados de equipos brasileños estaban los venezolanos. Baurú, Mogi Das Cruces y
Flamengo se interponían entre Guaros y la historia. Así, Guaros y Baurú como campeón
defensor, llegaron al partido decisivo por el cetro. Unas 11 mil personas estaban en el Domo
para el juego más importante en la historia de cualquier club venezolano de baloncesto.
Guaros pudo contener a un peligroso rival, pudo voltear la historia para escribir su propia
página. Ese juego cerrado que al final fue para los venezolanos 84-79, marcó un antes y
un después para la historia de los clubes venezolanos de baloncesto.
Surrounded by Brazilian teams, Baurú, Mogi Das Cruces and Flamengo stood between
Guaros and history. Thus, Guaros and Baurú as defending champion, came the decisive
match for the scepter. Some 11 thousand people were at the Dome for the most important
in the history of any Venezuelan club basketball game.
Guaros could contain a dangerous rival, could turn the story to write its own page. That
close game at the end was for the Venezuelans 84-79, marked a before and an after in
the history of Venezuelan basketball clubs.
