I would like to congratulate all parish members graduating from college and high school. You should be proud of your accomplishments! All the best as you step into the future! I offer special congratulations to the children of our parish graduating from grade school. Fifteen students will be graduating from our own Saint Francis de Sales Parish School on May 28! High school, here we come! I would also like to congratulate six members of our Hispanic community who graduated from the Saint Clare Center of Cardinal Stritch University on May 20 with certificates in lay ministry. They attended classes Saint Clare Center every other Saturday for two years in order to improve their pastoral knowledge and skills to aid them in their work in their volunteer ministries. Congratulations! Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity - it is a celebration of the great mystery of God in our lives. Our God as revealed to us in Scripture is Father, Son and Spirit: one God, three persons. We learn from the Sacred Scriptures that within God’s very self there is a relationship of love between Father, Son and Holy Spirit, a relationship so profound and so vast that it cannot be contained. That love engulfs and penetrates every aspect of our lives. In the moment of our baptism, these words are spoken: “I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” We come into this world knowing no one, and we are alone and vulnerable in many ways. But in the moment of baptism, the God of love reaches out to us, and invites us into the life of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, showing us that we are not alone, that we are profoundly loved, and giving us the grace to be instruments of love and compassion in this world. The Scriptures teach us that God’s love is without limits and that he holds nothing back from us. He sent his only Son, not to condemn us but to give us eternal life. And the Son held nothing back; he loved us to the full extent and died to release us from our slavery to sin. In is resurrection we have new life. The Holy Spirit transforms us into instruments of God’s love in this world. May that love be revealed in our works of mercy! God’s Blessings, Fr. Que Dios los bendiga, Padre Jim Schuerman BULLETIN SUBMISSIONS All articles for the bulletin must be emailed to [email protected] or submitted in writing to the parish office.
