Page 3 May 15, 2016 PASTOR’S REFLECTION Pentecost May 15, 2016 Dear Friends, We were given the Holy Spirit in Baptism, sealed with the Spirit in Confirmation, and pray to become one body and spirit in Christ in the Eucharistic Prayers. We did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but the spirit of adoption that gives freedom to live as children of God. When afraid, cry out for confidence. When weak, cry out for strength. Pray “Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful,” set me on fire for people to see you today. Take time to refresh the life of the Spirit that has been given you. Then witness your faith like disciples and believers throughout the ages. Be assured of my prayers for you and for your dear ones. May the good Lord bless you with wisdom and peace. Please pray for me. In Christ, Msgr. Pablo A. Navarro THE PASSIONISTS WELCOME ALL THE MEN OF ST. BEAUTIFUL MERCY Feed the Hungry He who has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.” Proverbs 22:9 When was the last time you were hungry—truly hungry? Three million children die of under nutrition worldwide every year. That’s one child every four seconds. The very core of Christianity is not the focus on self but the forgetfulness of self and the focus on others. The spiritual and corporal works of mercy are love put into action. Too many people focus on just the spiritual works of mercy , which are important, but we must also live the corporal works, which focus on the physical needs of others. Pope Francis@Pontifex Christian hope is a gift that God gives us if we come out of ourselves and open our hearts to him.
