Missionary Cooperative Plan for 2016
Pentecost reminds us of the plurality of the one, holy, and apostolic
Church. This Sunday Fr. Anthony J. Gaspar from the Diocese of Dindgul, India will be speaking of the needs of that local church and invite
us to share our blessings with them. Let us be generous the people of
his diocese.

THE FULLNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The church wakes up to an amazing message this
morning. Look around and see who has been called. Listen
to the voices of those who proclaim Jesus is Lord. You’ll find
no race of people left out; you’ll find no language on earth
unfit to proclaim the glory of God. We call Pentecost Sunday
the “birthday of the church.” In many ways, the church is still
being born. Only when we all know the peace Jesus offered
in today’s Gospel will we really know the fullness of the Holy
Spirit.
St. Paul assures us in today’s second reading that “all
of us have been given to drink of the one
Spirit.” When we look around us in the church we should see
everyone. But we don’t. Not yet. What is holding us back
from fully embracing the one Body of Christ? When will we see our differences as manifestations of the same Holy Spirit?
LA PLENITUD DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO
La Iglesia se despierta esta mañana con un asombroso mensaje. Mira a tu alrededor a ver quién ha sido llamado. Escucha las voces de los que proclaman que Jesús
es el Señor. Encontrarás que ningún pueblo ni raza ha sido
excluido; ningún idioma del mundo es incapaz de proclamar
la gloria de Dios. Decimos que el Domingo de Pentecostés
es el “cumpleaños de la Iglesia”. En diversas maneras, la
Iglesia todavía está naciendo. Sólo cuando todos conozcan
la paz que Jesús ofrece en el Evangelio de hoy es que de
veras conoceremos la plenitud del Espíritu Santo.
San Pablo nos asegura en la segunda lectura de
hoy que “a todos se nos ha dado a beber del mismo Espíritu”. Cuando pasamos nuestra mirada por la Iglesia, deberíamos de ver a todos. Pero no es así. Todavía no, ¿qué barrera nos impide abrazarnos en un solo Cuerpo de Cristo? ¿Cuándo
vamos a reconocer que nuestras diferencias son manifestaciones de
un mismo Espíritu Santo?

We are called to proclaim the mighty works of God — his salvation
and good news — to every nation under heaven. Just as Mary and the

Because of pride, peoples and communities are divided and
cannot communicate. How do we communicate with one another
in our family? Do we each seem to speak a different language or
do we strive to understand each other?
The fruits of the Spirit are understanding, patience, gentleness,
peace, joy. Can we tell that the Spirit is among us?
Living as Jesus wants us to do is not always easy. We find many
obstacles and difficulties, but Jesus gives us the Spirit.

5. What our faith teaches us:
The Spirit who came on the disciples at Pentecost breaks all
division and dispels all fear. The Holy spirit lives in the Church and
grant gifts so that through her all people can see the love of God. We
are the Church.
The proofs of the presence of the Holy Spirit are the fruits:
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, temperance, faithfulness.
Prayer for Vocations
God and gracious God you have called us through our Baptism to
discipleship with your Son, Jesus Christ, and have sent us to bring
the Good News of Salvation to all people. We pray for you to grant us
more priests, deacons, religious brothers and sisters and lay ministers to build up your Church here within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Inspire our young men and women by the example of Blessed
Junipero Serra to give themselves totally to the work of Christ and his
Church. We ask you this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Por el orgullo, los pueblos y las comunidades se dividen y no
pueden comunicarse. ¿Cómo nos comunicamos nosotros en
nuestra familia? ¿Hablamos cada uno un lenguaje distinto o nos
esforzamos para comprender a los demás?
Los frutos del Espíritu son comprensión, paciencia, paz, mansedumbre, bondad, alegría. ¿Se nota el Espíritu entre nosotros?
No siempre es fácil vivir como Jesús quiere. Encontramos muchos obstáculos y dificultades, pero Jesús no da su Espíritu.

¿Cuándo nos hemos sentido cada uno comprendido? ¿En qué
momentos no ha sido así? ¿Por qué ocurrió? Demos gracias por
los buenos momentos y concedamos perdón por las incomprensiones.
¿Qué dificultades estamos viviendo ahorita? ¿Cómo podemos
resolver esas dificultades? ¿Oramos juntos para que el Espíritu
de Dios nos fortalezca?
5. Lo que nos enseña nuestra fe:
El Espíritu que vino sobre los discípulos en Pentecostés es un
espíritu que rompe todas las divisiones y disipa todos los temores. El
Espíritu Santo vive en la Iglesia y concede sus dones para que a través
de ella los pueblos puedan ver el amor de Dios. La Iglesia somos todos
nosotros.
La pruebas de que el Espíritu está en medio de la comunidad
son sus frutos: caridad, alegría, paz, paciencia, afabilidad, bondad, generosidad, mansedumbre, templanza, fidelidad.
Oración por las Vocaciones
Dios clemente y generoso, tu nos has llamado a través de nuestro
Bautismo al discipulado con tu Hijo, Jesucristo, y nos has enviado
para anunciar la Buena Nueva de salvación a todos los hombres. Te
rogamos que nos concedas más sacerdotes, diáconos, religiosos y
religiosas y ministros laicos para construir tu Iglesia aquí en la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles. Inspira a nuestros jóvenes, hombres y mujeres, con el ejemplo del Beato Junípero Serra, a entregarse totalmente
a la obra de Cristo y de su Iglesia. Te lo pedimos en el nombre de

¿Sales tú al la calle a anunciar a Jesús? ¿Cómo te entiendes con
la gente?
Jesús tu amigo, te invita:
♦ El Espíritu de Jesús es de alegría, paz y unión. Donde está
el Espíritu de Jesús no hay egoísmo, ni envidias ni divisiones.
¿Cómo puedes tú saber que el Espíritu esta contigo?
♦ ¿Tienes la tendencia a excluir a personas distintas porque no
te sientes cómodo(a) con ellas? ¿A qué le tienes temor en este
momento particular.
¿Que Voy Hacer?
Conversa con Jesús y cuéntale lo que a veces te asusta. Pídele
que te dé su Espíritu para tener valentía y unión con los demás.

Are you scared when you feel the wind and see the fire? Do you
also go out to talk to people about Jesus? How does this make
you feel?
Jesus, your friend, invites you:

Jesus tells us that he will send his Spirit on us, too. Wherever the
Spirit is, there is joy, love, and unity, rather than selfishness, division, or jealousy. How can you tell if the Spirit of Jesus is with
you?
Do you tend to exclude people who are different because you
don't feel comfortable with them. What are you afraid off at this
particular moment?
What am I going to do?
Speak to Jesus and tell him about what scares you. Ask him for the
Spirit to guide you. Tell Jesus what you would like to do this coming
week:

I will help someone in school who is
new , different or scared.

When I feel scared, I will try to think that
the spirit of Jesus is with me.
The Sacraments
At Confirmation we confirm the call of the Spirit we received at Baptism. We must now proclaim the Good News
of Jesus without the fear and are united to all the members
of God’s family, the Church.
