SAINT THOMAS AQUINAS SCHOLARSHIP
Recently, a representative from the Diocese of Charleston St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarship
Funding Organization came to Holy Trinity for a legislative reception and to award the school
two scholarships. These scholarships are part of the “school choice” legislation that was
passed in June of 2014 and applies to children with exceptional needs. The legislation
allowed the formation of 501c3 corporations to act as scholarship granting organizations to
support exceptional needs students in non-public schools. People and businesses that
donate to any qualified Scholarship Funding Organization may make a donation that equals up to 60% of her/his state income tax paid
in 2013. In turn, the donor may take, with the permission of the Department of Revenue, a dollar-for-dollar credit on her/his 2014 state
income tax. At the recent HTCS reception, Mrs. Greg Hembree, wife of Senator Greg Hembree, was present for the presentation.
The First Annual Holy Trinity Catholic School Derby Party will take place on May 2, 2015 at 3:00pm until after the race at the
Brentwood Restaurant & Wine Bistro, Little River, SC. The event includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, dessert and wine. There will be
music, a hat contest, mint juleps to purchase, silent and live auctions, mystery envelopes, heads or tails game and the finale is the
running of the Kentucky Derby race shown on a big screen TV. Tickets are $65 in advance and $75 at the door. Tickets will be
available soon! Please watch the bulletin for ticket purchase options. However, you may reserve tickets by calling the school, 843-3904108. Sponsorships for the Derby Party are also available. Please call the school for information on sponsorships. Music for the event
will be by the Trexlers.

school at 843-390-4108 between the hours of 8:30am and 2:30pm. Tickets are $11 each. Our school choir will sing the national

SOCIAL OUTREACH
Welcome the Visiting Madonna - While we are encouraged
to embrace Jesus’ cross, perhaps the next best thing we can
do as the faithful is to turn to the Blessed Mother for
guidance…”Blessed Mother, please help me.” As human
beings, we can’t do everything. But the Blessed Mother can
go to her Son Jesus and do wonders.
The Knights of Columbus are offering intimate prayer
devotions in your own homes to all parishioners so that every
family may experience visitation for one week from our Visiting
Madonna. Families will begin to experience a sense of peace,
quiet and reflection while saying the Rosary as a family with
Our Lady. The family that prays together stays together. If
you are interested in participating in welcoming the Visiting
Madonna, please call Sam Konrad at (843) 399-7003 or email
him at [email protected].
To All Graduating Seniors
If you are a graduating High School Senior and a Member of
Our Lady Star of the Sea parish and planning to continue
your education, the Ladies Guild would like to hear from
you. We are offering four $ 1,000.00 scholarships to help
four graduating seniors with college expenses. Applications
for the awards are available in our Church Office and in the
Guidance Office at North Myrtle Beach High School. All
applications with their required essays will be considered by
the Scholarship Committee and after a personal interview,
four students will be chosen for the scholarship monies.
Deadline for the application is April 24th.
God Bless you all and good luck.
Questions, call Marlene Walker at 843-249-5355.
This week, The Visiting Madonna will be presented to
James & Shirley Ranieri at the 8:00 AM Mass.
Diaconate Formation Information Meeting
Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston
Office of the Permanent Diaconate
In communion with the bishop and priests, deacons
are ordained for a distinct ministry, which is indicated
by their name: they are ordained for service. They function in all
three areas of the Church’s life: transmission of the Word,
celebrating of the sacraments, and in the community’s active love.
The deacon, therefore, is more properly defined in terms of who
he is rather than of what he does. He is a visible sign of the
Church's call to “diakonia” — service. He is both servant and
sacrament.

Thank you for your continued support for OUR LADY’S
KITCHEN and our families in the Food Distribution
Program. Our need is still great. Many have had hours cut
from work, putting another strain on the family income this
winter season. Our Food Security program and Our Lady’s
Kitchen have been a real life support for the families who
struggle to make ends meet. Your financial donations
and food contributions are our only means of support
for this growing need in the North Myrtle Beach
Communities. These programs could not exist without You.
Thank You,
and May God Continue to Bless You.

It is a faith journey where adults are fully welcomed into the
Catholic Church.
If you’re interested in exploring a
relationship with Jesus Christ; inquiring about the Catholic
Church; becoming Catholic; and being fully initiated into the
Catholic Church through the celebration of the Sacraments
of Baptism, Confirmation & Eucharist,
WE WELCOME YOU!

THIS WEEK— SECOND COLLECTION
Catholic Relief Service
“Amen, I say to you, whatever
you did for one of these least
brothers of mine, you did for me”
(Mt 25:40).
Today, we are reminded that Jesus identified himself with our
poorest brothers and sisters. The Catholic Relief Services
Collection serves Jesus in the victims of human trafficking, in
those who suffer from unjust laws, and in those who need
pastoral care and humanitarian assistance across the globe.
Through your support with today’s Collection, you help Jesus in
disguise. Please be generous.

QUINTO DOMINGO DE CUARESMA
"SI EL GRANO DE TRIGO QUE CAE EN TIERRA NO MUERE
QUEDA INFECUNDO, PERO SI MUERE; DA MUCHO FRUTO".
(Evangelio de San Juan 12,20-33)
Queridos Hermanos:
posible ver a Jesús.
