He is encouraged that the community has partnered with him to proclaim the Gospel. He sees Christ’s active presence and plan of salvation at work in the community. God’s overarching plan is unclear to us. But when we see evidence of God working through others, doesn’t it give us reason to believe that Christ is alive among us? Does the witness of others help our own prayer lives? Does it inspire us to promote the Gospel? During this second week of Advent take time to reflect on how you see Christ’s presence in your community. We are called to help prepare the way of the Lord by making the real meaning of Christmas come alive in our own hearts, in our family and to reach out to those in need. Is there a family you know who needs assistance? Please call the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that together we can help the suffering and poor to celebrate Christmas. Jesus’ teaching on marriage and family are from creation (Mt 19:3). The life to the human being and of humanity is part of a great project: that of God the creator. As in all aspects of life, we find our wholeness and our felicity if we can insert ourselves freely in consciously into this great project full of wisdom and love. ~ Cardinal Peter Erdo, Budapest Hungary, Oct 2015 Synod on the Family FREQUENT NUMBERS/ NUMEROS FREQUENTES PASTORAL CARE Liturgy Divorce & Beyond Bereavement Ministry Hospital visit (English) Hospital visit (Español) Homebound (English) Homebound (Spanish) Nursing Home Ministry Debbie George Debbie George Debbie George Mary DiBonito Martha Estrada Geri Lynn Martha Estrada Azucena Overman 600-8158 600-8158 600-8158 934-3235 417-8722 629-9006 417-8722 627-6423 SPIRITUAL LIFE Eucharist Adoration Pilgrim Statue Our Lady of Grace Estatua Peregrina Praise & Worship Prayer Line Parish Bible Study Legion of Mary Gigi Lewis Debbie Davis Rosie Russi Les & Gabriele Miller Joan A. Help a family in need this Christmas. All over the Central Texas community, the hardship of natural disaster, severe illness or loss of employment can impair mothers’ and fathers’ ability to provide for their family. When we have the opportunity to improve their lives, everyone benefits. JUST BECAUSE MINISTRIES of HOPE is a non-profit organization that was established in 1987 to impart the best of the human spirit: support, love and joy, to those in need. The purpose of this project is to help families during the Christmas season that don’t meet the requirements of other holiday support programs. We identify families in need through local agencies such as Williamson County Health District, local schools and other agencies and match them up with sponsors that provide a holiday meal and gifts. How you can help: Sponsor a Family – purchase gifts for the children and provide non-perishable food. We have different sized families (# of children) we support.
