on the envelope will determine the year the gift is recorded in.
 If the Catholic Foundation (Our Faith…Our Future) receives a gift with a check dated 12/31/2015 on 1/3/2016, but the postmark on
the envelope reads 12/31/2015 (or earlier), it will be posted as a gift in 2015.
 If St. Mark receives a gift with a check dated 12/31/2015, but the postmark of the envelopes reads 1/1/2016(or later), it will be
posted as a gift received in 2016.
All gifts delivered by December 31, 2015 , noon, will be recorded as a 2015 gift. Bank credit cards are only deductible in the year the

The Catholic Foundation can be reached at 972-661-9792 if you have any questions regarding your Our Faith…Our Future Capital
Campaign gifts.
Come Home for Christmas
Do you know someone who has left the Church? Most of us don’t have to look very far to find someone in our circle of
family and friends who is an inactive Catholic. Many people can’t explain why they stopped coming to church except
that life just got in the way. Most non-practicing Catholics are simply waiting for an invitation to return.
If you or someone you know are thinking of coming home to the Catholic Church, we welcome you to give us a call to
ask your questions and voice your concerns. If you would like to talk about this process, have questions, or would like additional information, please call Debbie Betz at 972-423-4715, ext. 232.

Reflection from “Sunday Prayer for Catechists”
The message of John the Baptist may be difficult to absorb as we
are busy shopping for Christmas gifts. As authentic disciples of
Jesus our focus in not on wealth, position, or possessions. John
knows that he will diminish and Christ will increase. As catechists
we pray to follow in John’s footsteps so all that we do points the
students to Jesus, who leads us to our Triune God. As disciples
echoing the Good News, may the light of Christ shine through
our words and actions to those we serve.

What is Open Youth House?
Open Youth House, both the High School and Middle School
meetings, is an event we host each week for youth to hang out
and get to know each other through games, sports, movies, etc..
There is no fee or lesson, just an open environment for fun and
games to allow the students to have a safe environment for fellowship. We encourage students to bring snacks, but this is not
an obligation. Come join us here at St. Mark for Food, Fun, and
Fellowship!

ST. MARK THE EVANGELIST CATHOLIC COMMUNITY
Week 3: Lighting of Three Candles
Lord God, during these weeks of Advent, the days are growing shorter and colder. But the promised light of Jesus will
shine forth as surely as the light shines forth from our Advent
wreath candles, offering us hope.
O Lord, help us to shine like these flames. Help us
prepare the way of your Son by offering the warmth of your
love to others. We ask this through the same Jesus Christ
your Son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the
Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
