Come Home for Christmas Do you know someone who has left the Church? Most of us don’t have to look very far to find someone in our circle of family and friends who is an inactive Catholic. Many people can’t explain why they stopped coming to church except that life just got in the way. Most non-practicing Catholics are simply waiting for an invitation to return. If you or someone you know are thinking of coming home to the Catholic Church, we welcome you to give us a call to ask your questions and voice your concerns. If you would like to talk about this process, have questions, or would like additional information, please call Debbie Betz at 972-423-4715, ext. 232. 5 13 DE DICIEMBRE DEL 2015 13, 2015 ELEMENTARY FAITH FORMATION 972-423-4715 DECEMBER Youth & Young Adult Ministries Ministerio de Jóvenes y Jóvenes adultos Today’s Gospel, Luke 3:15-17 Reflection from “Sunday Prayer for Catechists” The message of John the Baptist may be difficult to absorb as we are busy shopping for Christmas gifts. As authentic disciples of Jesus our focus in not on wealth, position, or possessions. John knows that he will diminish and Christ will increase. As catechists we pray to follow in John’s footsteps so all that we do points the students to Jesus, who leads us to our Triune God. As disciples echoing the Good News, may the light of Christ shine through our words and actions to those we serve. 972-578-9583 [email protected] stmarkplanoyouth.org New Office Hours: Mon.-Thurs. 9AM-4PM Fri. 9AM-12PM. MARK THE EVANGELIST CATHOLIC COMMUNITY Week 3: Lighting of Three Candles Lord God, during these weeks of Advent, the days are growing shorter and colder. But the promised light of Jesus will shine forth as surely as the light shines forth from our Advent wreath candles, offering us hope. O Lord, help us to shine like these flames. Help us prepare the way of your Son by offering the warmth of your love to others. We ask this through the same Jesus Christ your Son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen. 9
