Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of
Man to be glorified. Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of
wheat fall to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat;
but if it dies, it produces much fruit.”
John 12:23-24
sembrado en la tierra, no muere, queda infecundo;
pero si muere, producirá mucho fruto.

"Athirst is my soul for the living God; when shall I go and behold the
face of God?" Certainly not until I let go of my judgments/prejudice. The Law for the Israelites signified God's presence. Jesus was that
presence made real. By Eucharist we become signs of Jesus' presence.
If we want society to change we must first look at ourselves in the
mirror and find the seeds of intolerance, prejudice, or violence.
It's not about the things we have, the work we do, the Lenten
sacrifices we make; it's about loving neighbor as self and God with all

Lent Guidelines
The annual observance of Lent is the special season for the
ascent to the holy mountain of Easter. Through its twofold
theme of repentance and baptism, the season of Lent disposes
both the catechumens and the faithful to celebrate the paschal
mystery. Catechumens are led to the sacraments of initiation by means of the
Rite of Election, the Scrutinies, and catechesis. The faithful, listening more
intently to the word of God and devoting themselves to prayer, are prepared
through a spirit of repentance to renew their baptismal promises. Ceremonial

Fasng is to be observed by all 18 years of age and older, who
have not yet celebrated their 59th birthday. On a fast day one full
meal is allowed. Two other meals, sufficient to maintain strength,
may be taken according to each one's needs, but together they
should not equal another full meal. Ea#ng between meals is not
permi%ed, but liquids, including milk and juices, are allowed.
Absnence is observed by all 14 years of age and older. On days of
abs#nence no meat is allowed. Note that when health or ability to
work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. Good Friday, April 3, 2015, are days of fast and abs#nence. All the
Fridays of Lent are days of abs#nence.
Fas#ng, almsgiving, and prayer are the three tradi#onal disciplines
of Lent. The faithful and catechumens should undertake these
prac#ces seriously in a spirit of penance and of prepara#on for
bap#sm or of renewal of bap#sm at Easter. Sun. Mar 29/Isa 50:4Ͳ7, Ps 22:8Ͳ24, Phil 2:6Ͳ11, Mk 14:1Ͳ15:47

Currently it is fashionable to be devoutly undevout. Religion’s most passionate have
publishers competing eagerly to market their various denunciations of religion,
monotheism, Christianity, Roman Catholicism. But contemporary antireligious polemics are based not only upon profound conceptual confusions but upon ridiculous
simplifications of history or even outright historical ignorance. Helping us navigate this
trend, Fr. Joshua will help us follow the thought of Orthodox theologian David Bentley
Hart, one of the most brilliant theologians of our time. Reading his book, Atheist
Delusions, we’ll discover a powerful antidote to misrepresentations of the Christian
past, bringing into focus the truth about the most radical revolution in Western history.

esa presencia hecha real.
