II Workshop POLÍMEROS
BIODEGRADABLES Y
BIOCOMPUESTOS
and
III Workshop on Biobased Polyurethane
Composites and Natural
Fillers, BIOPURFIL
November 11-13 2015
Buenos Aires, Argentina
BioPoli
The first workshop on Biodegradable
Polymers and Biocomposites (I BIOCOMP)
was held in the city of Mar del Plata,
Argentina, in December 2013. The
meeting was a success and was the
starting point for this new call. The first
BIOPURFIL workshop was held in San
Sebastián, Spain in July 2014, as part of
the activities of the European project
BIOPURFIL that is focused on the
development of biopolyurethanes, foams
and composites, with nanocellulose. The
organizers of these two workshops have
decided to join efforts to organize this
next meeting by merging the relevant
topics of the two previous events.
The goal of this meeting is to provide to
scientists and developers working in the
area, a place and environment for the
presentation and enriching discussion of
their latest results in an amiable
atmosphere and offering young scientists
the opportunity to present their works
and interact with well established
researchers.
The topics that will be covered in this
opportunity are:
Polymers from renewable resources.
Films, composites and foams.
Bio-based polyurethanes: synthesis,
applications.
Biodegradation of bio-based polymers and
composites
Preparation, processing and
compatibilization of bio-derived fillers and
nanofillers.
Composites and nanocomposites with
bio- based matrices.
 Synthesis and processing of biopolymers
Biodegradable polymers in food packaging
Biomedical polymers
Invited plenary speakers:
Richard Wool,
U.S.A.“ Plant oils to soft
and hard matter”.
Alain Dufresne, France. "Nanoparticles
from renewable resources: Extraction and
applications".
Alessandro Gandini. "Starch, natural
rubber and bacterial cellulose as sources of
novel materials and composites“.
José María Kenny, Italy. “PLA based
nanocomposites”.
Jean-Pierre Pascault, France. "Bio-based
Poly(butylene succinate): Synthesis and
properties of homopolymers, copolymers
and nanocomposites”.
Language
Since in this opportunity we are holding an
Argentinian and an international workshops
together, the plenary lectures will be
presented in English, as well as most of the
keynote talks. Orals can be presented in
Spanish or English , but the presenters are
requested to prepare their slides in English.
Posters can be presented in English or
Spanish.
Travel
Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina is
the entrance to the country if you arrive from
abroad by plane. The airport is Ministro
Pistarini International Airport (also known as
Ezeiza Airport) and there are buses that will
take you to the center of the city. Flights and
buses connect Buenos Aires with the main
destinations in the country.
The city counts with public transportation of
buses, a wide subway network (subterráneo)
and taxi services.
