THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE: Thanks to those
parishioners that have already responded generously to this
year’s cardinal’s appeal of the Archdiocese of New York.
We please humbly ask every parishioner to cooperate so
that we may reach our goal smoothly and in a very short
time. Special envelops are provided in the back of the
church for this year’s annual cardinal’s appeal. Thank you
so much for your cooperation and generosity.
VOLUNTEERS: Please we are looking for volunteers
from the parishioners of English Holy Mass that can
organize others in various suitable groups of spiritual
devotions and various suitable groups of social
entertainments which can always be part of our parish
annual bilingual celebrations. Those who are willing to
volunteer can please fill the forms provided in the back of
the church. Thank you so much in advance.
CANDIDATES FOR CONFIRMATION: Confirmation
Candidates will have their sacrament of reconciliation
(penance) on Saturday June 20th 2015 at 10.00AM. Their
Practice for the Sacrament of Confirmation will be on
Monday June 22nd 2015 at 6:30PM. Each candidate must
come with a sponsor for that confirmation practice. Holy
Mass together with the Celebration of the Sacrament of
confirmation will be on Thursday June 25th 2015 at 7:30pm.
CCD PROGRAM -YEAR 2014-2015: We would like to
inform all parents and guardians who have children in our
CCD program; that our Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday
CCD classes for the year 2014 -2015 will end on June 25th,
2015. We shall resume with new classes in September
2015. Many thanks for your cooperation.
FATHER’S DAY ENVELOPS: It is wonderful for us to
pray and honor our Fathers in a very special way each year.
Envelops for Father’s day Mass remembrance can be
obtained from the back of the church. This year’s Father’s
day will be celebrated on Sunday June 21st 2015.
PARISH MEMBERSHIP: Those who wish to become
registered members in our parish are please encouraged to

HISPANIC CONGRESS: This year’s Hispanic Congress
will be celebrated on August 9th 2015 at the National Shrine
of divine Mercy. The Faithful who consider making a
pilgrimage to the National Shrine of divine Mercy for the

CELEBRATION: The Christian group known as
“Cursillos de Cristiandad” of the Archdiocese of New York
will celebrate its annual traditional ceremony, known as

INDEPENDENCE DAY: We shall have a Holy Mass on
Independence Day Saturday July 4th 2015 in the morning
at 9:30am. Nonetheless our weekend Sunday vigil masses
will certainly be celebrated at the usual time on that day.
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK: If you or anyone you love
is sick and unable to attend Sunday Holy Mass, please call

MASS INTENTIONS: One who wishes to write a Mass
intention for any favor from God should do so early before
Mass begins. Please give your Mass intention to our church
lectors who will respectively announce it before the
beginning of the Holy Eucharist. Envelops for Mass
intentions are on the table in the back of the church.
APPRECIATION: Thanks to the individuals from the
devotional group known as “Grupo de Oracion”, of our
parish, that donated new big high velocity fans to our
church. May the blessings of our lord Jesus Christ be upon
them as we continue to acknowledge their great generosity!

EDMUND RICE CHRISTIAN BROTHERS:
The
Archdiocese New York assigned “Edmund rice Christian
Brothers” to our parish this weekend of June 13th and 14th,
who will be preaching on the importance of Missionary
Cooperation. At the end of each holy Mass there will be a
collection to support their missionary work. Please be
generous as you always have been. Thank you so much in
advance.
SUNDAY REFLECTION
Through the oracles of the Prophet Ezekiel, God gave his
people reason to hope. Ezekiel foresees salvation coming
to “birds of every kind”—thus, not just to the
Chosen People of Israel, but also to the Gentiles, who will
“take wing” through their new life in Christ. God indeed
will “lift high the lowly tree,” as he solemnly promises at
the conclusion of the passage from the prophet.
Such salvation surpasses humanity’s most ambitious
dreams. And so we express our gratitude in the
Responsorial Psalm: “Lord, it is good to give thanks to
you.” It is indeed good to give thanks, and better still to
give thanks with praise. Like Ezekiel, the psalmist
evokes the image of a flourishing tree to describe
the lives of the just. The image, again, suggests the cross
as the measure of righteousness. The cross is a challenge
to those who would rather “flourish” according to worldly
terms. It is a sign of contradiction. And so Saint Paul
repeatedly emphasizes, to the Corinthians, the necessity
of courage. Our faith makes us strong, and it is proved in
our deeds. The Apostle reminds us that we will be judged
by the ways our faith manifested itself in works: “so that
each may receive recompense, according to what he did
in the body, whether good or evil.” In the prophetic
oracles, in the Psalms that were sung in Jerusalem, he
scattered the small seed that sprang up and became the
mustard tree, large enough to accommodate all the birds
of the sky, just as Ezekiel had foretold.
He gave this doctrine to the disciples, as he still does
today, in terms they were able to understand, and he
provided a full explanation. In the sacraments he provides
still more: the grace of faith and the courage we need to
live in the world as children of God.

THANKS TO THE VOLUNTEERS: Many thanks to the
volunteers who always offer their time and energy to clean
the church and the sacristy. However they are asking us not
to leave our used bottles and tissues in the Pews. Please let
us cooperate with them to keep the church clean.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Communication
through announcements helps us to be made aware of our
weekly, monthly and annual church activities. Therefore,
relevant personal and group announcements should always
be brought to the Parish office not later than Tuesday of
each week, in order to put them together with our other
weekend bulletin announcements.
VOLUNTEERS TO TEACH CATECHISM: Please we
request parishioners who are able and willing to volunteer to
teach catechism to either children or Adults in our religious
education Program (CCD) in English or Spanish, to fill the
relevant forms provided at the back of the Church.
WEEKLY EXPOSITION AND ADORATION: Our
Thursday weekly exposition and adoration always begins at
6:00pm. However as for this time prayers are all done in
Spanish language. Please join us during that great spiritual
adoration.
FINANCE COMMETTEE MEETING: All members of
the Finance Committee will have meeting on Tuesday June
23, 2015. at 7:00pm.Thanks for your cooperation. Parish

DÍA DE LA INDEPENDENCIA: El sábado 4 de Julio
Tendremos la Santa Misa en el Día de la Independencia a
las 9:30 am. En la tarde tendremos el horario de costumbre
del sábado 5:30pm ingles y 7:30pm español.
GRACIAS POR LA RESPUESTA: Gracias a todos los
feligreses que ya han respondido generosamente a la
campaña del cardenal de este año de la Arquidiócesis de
Nueva York. Nosotros por favor le pedimos humildemente
a cada feligrés a cooperar para que podamos alcanzar
nuestra meta sin problemas y en un tiempo muy corto. Los

CANDIDATOS PARA LA CONFIRMACIÓN : Los
candidatos para la Confirmación tendrán su sacramento de
la reconciliación ( penitencia ) el Sábado 20 de junio de
2015 a las 10.00 am . Su Práctica para el Sacramento de la
Confirmación será el Lunes 22 de junio de 2015 a las 6:30
PM . Cada candidato debe venir con su padrino o madrina
para la práctica de confirmación. La celebración del
Sacramento de la Confirmación será el jueves 25 de junio
2015 a las 7:30 PM .
DÍA DEL PADRE: Es maravilloso para nosotros orar y
honrar a nuestros padres de una manera muy especial cada
año . Los sobres para las intenciones de la misa para el día
del padre están disponibles en la parte posterior de la
iglesia. El Día del Padre de este año se celebrará el
domingo 21 de junio de 2015.
PROGRAMA DEL CCD AÑO 2014-2015: Nos gustaría
informar a todos los padres y tutores que tienen niños en
nuestro programa del CCD ; que nuestras clases de los
Miércoles , sábados y domingos para el año 2014 -2015
terminarán el 25 de junio de 2015. Vamos a reanudar con
nuevas clases en septiembre de 2015 . Muchas gracias por

EDMUND RICE CHRISTIAN BROTHERS: La
Arquidiócesis de New York, ha asignado " a la orden de
hermanos Cristianos Edmund Rice" para llevar a cabo la
campaña misionera de este año. Un miembro de esta
fraternidad estará predicando en todas las misas de este fin
de semana del 13 y 14 de junio de 2015. Habrá una segunda
colecta para apoyar su trabajo misionero. Por favor, sean

EXPOSICIÓN Y ADORACIÓN: Cada Jueves tenemos la
exposición semanal y adoración al Santísimo, empieza a
las 6:30pm. Por favor, únase a nosotros en la gran
adoración espiritual.
REFLEXION DEL DOMINGO
Las lecturas de este domingo nos hablan de agricultura, de
cómo la planta comienza por la semilla. En el Evangelio
para explicarnos lo que es el Reino de Dios, Jesús nos
plantea dos parábolas sobre las plantas y las semillas.
En la primera parábola nos destaca que la semilla hace su
trabajo sola, que quien la planta se acuesta a dormir y de la
noche a la mañana, la semilla ha germinado y la planta va
creciendo sola, sin que éste sepa cómo sucede este
crecimiento. ¿Qué nos quiere decir el Señor con esta
comparación? Jesús ha usado esta imagen de la semilla
germinando para dar a entender que el Reino de Dios crece
de manera escondida. Efectivamente, el Reino de Dios va
creciendo en las personas que se hacen terreno fértil para el
crecimiento de la semilla. Hacernos terreno fértil significa
dejar que Dios penetre en nuestra alma para que, El haga
germinar su Gracia dentro de nosotros.
La segunda parábola es también sobre una semilla y una
planta. En ésta Jesús designa la semilla de la planta de
mostaza. Lo del grano y el árbol de mostaza pareciera más
bien referido a la Iglesia. ¿Quién hubiera pensado que
aquel grupo pequeño de 12 hombres podía resultar en lo
que es la Iglesia Católica hoy?. ¿Quién fue el artífice de ese
crecimiento? El mismo Dios. Los seres humanos ponemos
un granito de arena y El hace el resto. No fue la elocuencia
de los Apóstoles, ni su inteligencia, lo que hizo germinar la
Iglesia. Ellos fueron terrenos fértiles para que el Espíritu
Santo hiciera su trabajo de expansión de la Iglesia a todos
los rincones de la tierra.
En el Salmo 91 hemos rezado: El justo crecerá como la
palmera, se alzará como cedro del Líbano; plantado en la
casa del Señor. En la vejez seguirá dando frutos y estará
lozano y frondoso; para proclamar que el Señor es justo. Y
por todo esto hemos recitado: Es bueno dar gracias al
Señor.

SACRAMENTS
BAPTISM: This sacrament is celebrated on the last
Sunday of each month. Parents should call the Rectory
for appointment to register.
CONFESSIONS: The sacrament of reconciliation takes
place every Saturday from 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM. One can
as well arrange for a confession during the week by
calling a priest for an appointment.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK: One can call the rectory
and speak to a priest. Please let us also know of those
parishioners who are homebound. Communion is often
brought to the sick and to the homebound by priests,
deacon and our Eucharistic Ministers.
MATRIMONY: Couples must make arrangements at
least six months before their wedding date. Please call
the Rectory for an appointment with a Priest.
