realistically? In this talk, Bismarck Diocese Vocations Director Fr. Tom Richter will describe in concrete terms what the interior act of trust looks like,
and what we must choose in order to grow in trust.
Beyond Belief: Following Christ Today
Fr. Mike Schmitz tackles some of the most difficult
topics in the Church today with humor, clarity, and
theological truth. In this talk, he challenges us to not
settle for mediocrity and to allow Christ to change
our lives. Fr. Mike goes on to explain that once we
are changed by the love of Jesus, then together we
can change the world.
So Help Me God:
In this dynamic talk Dr. Scott Hahn explains the importance of oaths, which invoke God’s name and
implore His assistance. He shows that oaths are also
the means of transforming our personal relationship
with Christ into a covenant relationship. Dr. Hahn
then explains what led him to move from believing
in only two Sacraments to all seven. In sharing these
insights, he connects oaths to the seven Sacraments
and unveils their mystery and importance. He
reveals that the Sacraments are the ordinary means
by which God empowers us to do His will. You'll
discover that the Sacraments don’t make holiness
easy, but they do make it possible.

Reflexión del santo evangelio
según San Marcos 13:24-32
Comentario breve:
Hoy, con el trigésimo-tercer domingo del Tiempo Ordinario y
con la solemnidad el próximo domingo de Cristo Rey, se corona
el año litúrgico de la Iglesia, y la estación del Adviento se aproxima. A la conclusión del Tiempo Ordinario las lecturas nos
llaman a considerar el futuro de la creación cuando, siguiendo el
tiempo de angustia y tribulación que acompaña la historia del
mundo y la jornada de la Iglesia, “Dios será todo en todo.” Lo
que creemos sobre el futuro influye como vivimos hoy. Para
aquellos quienes creen que el futuro termina en futilidad, la propia vida aparece ser sin sentido y solamente los placeres temporales de este mundo aparentan llenar el vacío. Nuestras inclinaciones materialistas y de consumo pueden disfrazar una desesperanza: ¿Es esto solo lo que existe? Si es así el caso, entonces comprare o obtendré el numero mayor de bienes y juguetes
que pueda acumular…porque esto es todo…y mi vida no tiene
significado transcendental mas halla de las adquisiciones y
placeres pasajeros.” Esta es, claramente, una postura que a
menudo acompaña la afluencia; los pobres y marginados piensan ajenamente. Para los cristianos, por otro lado, el futuro lo
encaramos con gran esperanza, ya que “el futuro es todo bueno,
porque Dios es el futuro” (Padre John O’ Grady). Ni la injusticia ni opresión, ni la muerte o violencia, ni la maldad o indiferencia tienen futuro; solamente el amor y justicia, gozo y paz,
bondad y vida tienen futuro, porque el futuro de todo es Dios. A
pesar de toda clase de dificultades, el gozo del vivir continua
porque Jesucristo, crucificado y resucitado – y su Espíritu en
nuestros corazones – son ya “la promesa de futura inmortalidad.” Sin embargo, mas halla de ser una distracción, o una forma de escape de las realidades y retos que el mundo enfrenta,
esta esperanza cristiana en el florecimiento del reino de Dios a
la meta de la historia lleva a los cristianos a comprometerse para
el bien del ‘mundo que Dios ama tanto’, trabajando para crear
un mundo mas digno de la persona humana, un mundo mas justo y compasivo. Porque el plan de Dios para su creación en Jesucristo es de afirmar y establecer su bien para siempre, los cristianos buscan avanzar con sus vidas y misión un mundo que ya
comienza a experimentar el amanecer de la luz salvífica de Dios
hasta que amanezca plenamente el día de Cristo Jesús. En lugar
de siendo rendidos por el sueño de la complacencia y facilidad,
La lectura de hoy nos presenta tres ideas importantes:
En este ultimo domingo del Tiempo Ordinario la Iglesia afirma la fe y esperanza de que el futuro es todo bueno, porque
Dios es el futuro. Y porque Dios es el futuro del universo, entonces solamente el bien y el amor, justicia y rectitud, gozo y
paz tienen un futuro.
Lo que creemos sobre el futuro influye como vivimos nuestras vidas. Los cristianos viven con la esperanza cierta en la
vindicación por Dios de todo lo que es verdadero y bueno, y de
toda la creación. Esta certeza en el significado mas profundo de
la creación, y del amor de Dios por la creación y promesa de
redimirla, nos libera de la falta de esperanza y nos permite a
hacer una diferencia en el mundo.
Lejos de ser un escape, la esperanza en la meta de toda las
cosas en Jesucristo inspira a los cristianos a trabajar diligentemente en el mundo en haciéndolo mas justo y compasivo de
acuerdo al modelo del reino de Dios, su visión y valores.
Para la reflexión personal o comunitaria:
Después de una pausa breve para reflexionar en silencio,
comparta con otros sus ideas o sentimientos.
¿Cómo influye en mi vida, la manera en que pienso, valoro y
vivo, la creencia de que “Cristo vendrá de nuevo en gloria a
juzgar a los vivos y…que su reino no tendrá fin…y en la vida
del mundo futuro?”
¿Cómo soy un agente de autentica esperanza en las vidas de
los demás, de mi familia, comunidad, sociedad y mundo que está

Presentación de la Virgen María
Ana y Joaquín, en un acto de fe quisieron darle gracias a Dios por el nacimiento de esta niña, 21 de noviembre
Esta fiesta arranca desde el lejano año 543. Fue el tiempo en que se dedicó una basílica a “La Virgen María la Nueva”.
Se levantó en el mismo monte Sión en la explanada del Templo.
Las Iglesias orientales, muy sensibles ante las fiestas marianas, conmemoran este día la Entrada de María en el Templo para indicar que, aunque era purísima, no obstante, cumplía con los ritos antiguos de los judíos para no llamar la
atención.
La liturgia bizantina la trata como "la fuente perpetuamente manante del amor, el templo espiritual de la santa gloria
de Cristo Nuestro Señor".
En Occidente, se la presenta como el símbolo de la consagración que la Virgen Inmaculada hizo de sí misma al Señor
en los albores de su vida consciente.
Este episodio de la Virgen María no se encuentra en los cuatro evangelios. Sí que aparece, por el contrario, en un libro
apócrifo, el “protoevangelio de Santiago”.
Pero, como siempre, quien manda es el pueblo cristiano. Desde siempre la espiritualidad y la piedad popular han estado marcadas y han subrayado la disponibilidad de María la Virgen ante los mandatos e insinuaciones mínimas del Señor Dios.
Por eso, tanto en Occidente como en Oriente esta fiesta tuvo en seguida un éxito resonante entre todos los cristianos.
María estaba destinada a ser un templo vivo de la divinidad. Según este evangelio apócrifo, la escena no puede ser
más sencilla:" Ana y Joaquín, en un acto de fe y de cortesía, quisieron darle gracias a Dios por el nacimiento de esta
niña".
No pensaron una cosa mejor que consagrársela de por vida. Cuando tenía
tres años, la llevaron al Templo, la cogió un sacerdote mediante unas palabras que recuerdan el Magnificat, el himno del Virgen María en acción de
gracias por lo que el Señor había hecho con ella.
¡Felicidades a quienes lleven este nombre y las Hermanas de la Presentación de Granada y del mundo!
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Baptisms are held at 2 pm on Saturdays. Baptism is the
most important moment of our life. Infants should be baptized in the first few weeks. Parents AND godparents must
attend the preparation class (held every 2nd Saturday)
preferably before the child is born. Parents need to be
registered in the parish, pledge to raise the child as a practicing Catholic, and must also be practicing the faith by
attending Holy Mass every Sunday. Godparents are considered Catholic role models. Therefore, they must have
received all sacraments, including Confirmation, and must
be attending Holy Mass every Sunday. If they are married,
they must have received the sacrament of Holy Matrimony
in the Catholic Church. Please come to the parish office to
register for the class and bring a copy of the child’s birth
certificate when it becomes available.
SACRAMENT OF HOLY MATRIMONY
Couples should make an appointment with the priest at
the time of engagement, and at least six months before
any proposed wedding date to begin preparations. All
Weddings are celebrated inside the Church on Saturday at
10 AM or 12 pm.
