each angel tag is a suggested age appropriate gift
item for a girl or boy. Parishioners are invited to
take as many Angel tags as they would like to
purchase the suggested gift. We are requesting 1
item of clothing (valued at $20.00) and 1 toy
(valued at $20.00). Please do not wrap the gifts.
Bring your gifts in gift bags with the angel tag

Then the angel said to
her, “Do not be afraid,
Mary, for you have
found favor with God.
And behold, you will
conceive in your womb and
bring forth a Son, and shall
call His name JESUS. He will
be great, and will be called
the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give
Him the throne of His father David. And He will
reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His
kingdom there will be no end.”

Next Ministry Planning Meeting
Thursday, December 17th at 6:30pm
Attn: Spiritual Parents/Brothers & Sisters!!
Please continue to pray!
The babies are counting on us!
Remember to pray daily for your spiritually adopted
child and his/her parents. During your earthly life,
this spiritually adopted child of yours is known only
to God, but in the world to come, it is hoped that you
will meet this child whose life was spared by your
prayers and spend eternal happiness with him/her.
One Month:
Your spiritually adopted baby has been quite active
over the past four weeks. Already, your baby is
10,000 times bigger than at conception. Your baby
has developed the foundations of his/her brain, spinal cord, and nervous system by the 20th day. His/her
heart began to beat on the 21st day and is pumping
blood through his/her own circulatory system. The
blood type can be different from the mother’s. Your
baby is most vulnerable during the next month of
being aborted. Pray that the Lord of Life might move
the heart of his/her mother to give them the most
precious gift of all… the gift of life!
Please call Barbra Manriquez at (562)900-9492 or
email us at: [email protected]
with any questions or to be added to our email list.
JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY
The Jubilee Year of Mercy begins December 8, 2015, the fiftieth anniversary of the closing of the Second Vatican Council. December 8, is also the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.
The year will end November 20, 2016, the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe.
The Vatican’s website tells us that “The jubilee year is a holy year marked by acts of faith, charity, and brotherly communion.”
The motto, “Merciful Like the Father” serves as an invitation to follow the merciful example of the Father
who asks us not to judge or condemn but to forgive and to give love and forgiveness without measure. Mercy
can be practiced through acts of charity. Our Church lists seven corporal and spiritual works of mercy which
are to be performed by the faithful. Corporal Works of Mercy are to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty,
shelter the homeless, clothe the naked, visit the sick, visit the imprisoned, and bury the dead. Spiritual Works
of Mercy are to admonish the sinner,, instruct the ignorant, counsel the doubtful, comfort the sorrowful, bear
wrongs patiently, forgive all injury, and pray for the living and the dead.
“I am convinced that the whole Church will find in this Jubilee the joy needed to rediscover and make fruitful
the mercy of God, with which all of us are called to give consolation to every man and woman of our time,”
Pope Francis said, after announcing the jubilee year.

SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT
DID YOU KNOW?
Shop safely this Christmas
If you let your kids go to the mall by themselves to
buy Christmas presents, you should talk to them
about potential dangers they need to guard against.
Christmas is the busiest time of year for commercial
retail, which means that malls and shopping centers
will be more crowded, and younger kids and teens
who are alone may be a target for kidnappers and
other dangers. Talk to your children about being
aware of their surroundings, and where to go for
help. Be in contact with them while they’re shopping, and have a check-in place and time set if
you’re splitting up. For more information please visit: http://safety.more4kids.info/186/shopping-withkids/.

¿SABIA USTED?
