Parish Information
TO ALL MOTHERS We wish all of our Mothers a most Happy and Blessed Mother’s Day. At the 5 pm on Saturday, and the 8 and 10 am on Sunday we will honor the
mother with the oldest living child and the mother with the youngest living child with
a corsage presented by the Ladies Auxiliary of the knights of Peter Claver. We will
also offer a special blessing on all of our Mothers.
Congratulations to all those who made their FIRST COMMUNION this weekend and
last weekend. We welcome you into full communion with the church and look
forward to seeing many new faces at the altar!
CONFIRMATION is being held today, Sunday at the 5 pm evening mass. We
hope you will join us to pray with our candidates as they are confirmed by Archbishop Wilton Gregory. Because of Confirmation, we will honor our Mothers only at the
earlier masses, though we will continue to pray for them.
The ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CONFERENCE is open on Tuesdays 10am to 12:30pm
to serve food to walk-in clients and to offer assistance for utilities or rent to clients
who have called in advance and made appointments. Please call 404-766-3944 and
leave a message. Messages will be answered on Tuesdays.

miss the Healing Mass, the exhibitions, the speakers, the amazing procession, confession, the kids track and the Mass celebrated by Cardinal Gregory. Admission is free

VISITING THE SICK ~ Sometimes a visit from someone makes all the difference in
the world. Please call the office if you would like a visit and the sacrament of the
anointing of the sick. Let God’s healing gift of prayer and anointing lift your heart
and your spirit. We are here for you!
We need: more help cleaning the church on Saturdays, more lectors for the Sunday
evening mass and a handyman with insurance for a paid position at the school.

“POR QUÉ LLORAS MAMÁ?
¿Por que lloras mamá? le pregunto un niño a su madre.
Porque soy mujer, le contestó ella.
No entiendo: dijo el niño.
Su madre se inclinó le abrazó y le dijo: -Jamás lo entenderás mi amor.
Más tarde el niño le preguntó a su papá: -¿Porqué a veces
mamá llora sin ninguna razón?
Todas las mujeres lloran siempre por “ninguna razón” le
contestó el padre.
El pequeño creció y se convirtió en un hombre, pero seguía siempre preguntándose: -¿Por qué las mujeres lloran
sin razón?
Un día le preguntó a DIOS, -Señor ¿Por qué lloran tan
fácilmente las mujeres y especialmente, sin razón? Y
Dios le dijo...
-Cuando hice a la mujer tenía que crear algo especial.
Hice sus hombros lo suficientemente fuertes, como para
cargar el peso del mundo entero, pero; a la vez lo suficientemente suaves como para confortarlo.
Le di una inmensa fuerza interior, para que pudiera
soportar el dolor de dar a luz y también el rechazo, que
muchas veces proviene de sus propios hijos.
Le di la fortaleza que le permite seguir adelante, cuidando
de su familia, sin quejarse, a pesar de las enfermedades y
la fatiga.
Le di sensibilidad para amar a sus hijos, bajo cualquier
circunstancia.
Esa misma sensibilidad, que le hace compartir cualquier
tristeza, llanto, dolor, ansiedad, duda o temor de sus hijos.
Le di la fuerza suficiente para que pudiera perdonar las
faltas de su esposo y por si fuera poco, la moldeé de una
de sus costillas para que ella pudiera cuidar de su corazón.
Le di sabiduría para saber que un buen esposo nunca lastimaría a su esposa y la determinación para mantenerse a su
lado a pesar de todo.
Pero para poder soportarlo todo...
Le di las lágrimas. Son algo exclusivamente de la mujer,
para usarlas cuando las necesite.
Gracias Señor por haber creado a la mujer, ahora comprendo el sentir de mi madre, de mi hermana y de mi esposa, respondió el hombre.
“Su única debilidad... son esas lágrimas llenas de ternura
y amor”

Catequistas de Primera Comunión y
Confirmación
Muchísimas gracias a todos los
catequistas y voluntarios que dedicaron
su tiempo y su talento en la catequesis
de este año. Que Dios los bendiga, ya
que gracias a su empeño y dedicación logramos alcanzar nuestros objetivos para este año. Igualmente los invitamos a un
pequeño “detalle” el próximo Domingo 17 de Mayo después
de la Misa de 12 como reconocimiento a su labor realizada.
Donaciones para este día de parte de nuestra Comunidad de
San Juan son bienvenidas!!! Y los esperamos con las manos
abiertas para el siguiente ciclo de catequesis.

El próximo Miércoles 13 de Mayo @ 7 PM tendremos en
nuestra parroquia este canta-autor Católico de Mexico quien
vendrá a compartir con nuestra comunidad su vida de oración y
alabanza al Señor. No se lo pierda. Iniciaremos con la Santa
Misa @ 7 PM y a continuación la adoración y alabanza, con
exposición del Santísimo.
Equipo para el retiro de Evangelización
Recuerden que el próximo Sábado 16 de Mayo de 1 a 6 PM
tendremos un “mini-retiro” para el equipo que animará y coordinará el próximo Retiro de Evangelización aquí en nuestra
parroquia.
Retiro de Evangelización
Recordamos a nuestra parroquia de San Juan que el próximo
Retiro de Evangelización será del Lunes 18-22 de Mayo de 8 a
10 PM y el 23 y 24 de Mayo de 8 AM – 8 PM. Que Dios nos
bendiga y nos de la gracia de poder vivir esta magnifica experiencia en nuestra comunidad.
Congreso Eucarístico 2015
Recuerde que la fecha del Congreso Eucarístico sera el 6 de
Junio (todo el día) en el “Georgia International Congress” (College Park, GA). Estaremos recibiendo órdenes para
las playeras (incluso con tallas EXTRAS…) al final de las
Misas en Español y/o en cada comunidad. Valor solamente $ 5
(tallas XL y XXL un dolar extra).
Asamblea de Comunidades
Nos volveremos a ver el Segundo y Cuarto Viernes de mes
para las Asambleas de Comunidad. Venga y comparta este rato
de oración, alabanza y catequesis como comunidad de fe.
Hombres de Valor
Invitamos a todos los varones de nuestra comunidad que
quieran profundizar en su vida y en su fe desde la perspectiva
del ser hombres en el mundo de hoy. Dese la oportunidad y
aproveche este espacio de crecimiento para su vida. Cada segundo y cuarto Sábado del mes de 8 PM a 10 PM.
Oración por las vocaciones
Todos los Jueves @ 6 Pm en la Capilla d San Juan estamos
orando por las vocaciones sacerdotales y religiosas. Venga y
participe de este rato de oración.
