sacraments, or make any other commitment. Those decisions are
highly personal one, made only after careful study, reflection, and
prayer.

Book Remembering the Deceased
There will be a Book Remembering the Deceased in the
gathering area for you to write the names of your deceased loved
ones for remembrance at the Masses during November. This
book will be placed on the altar for the month of November.

St. Thomas will celebrate Mass on All Souls’ Day November
2nd at 7:00PM in the main church.
Angel Tree
The Social Concerns Committee of Saint Thomas sponsors an
Angel Tree to provide Christmas gifts for needy children in Bibb
and Shelby Counties. The Angel Tree will be up on November
1st. Please fill out the bottom portion of the angel and leave in
the glass jar on the table. Take the top portion of the angel, attach
to the gift, and return the gift by December 5/6.

World Mission Sunday Thank You
Thank you to all who contributed to the World Mission
Collection last weekend. Through your generosity, St. Thomas
collected $1,107.00 for World Missions.
Wed. College Student Mass and Dinner
St. Thomas Parish sponsors a special Wednesday evening Mass
and Dinner for college students each Wednesday while the
University of Montevallo is in session. The Mass is celebrated at
5:30 PM at the Campus Chapel on the corner of Highland and
Moody, and a dinner prepared by teams from the parish follows
immediately after Mass.

Catholic Charities Thank You
Last weekend was the annual Catholic Charities Appeal for the
Diocese of Birmingham. The Catholic Charities Appeal funds the
programs and ministries of the Diocese. The goal for St. Thomas
Parish is $50,301.00. Thus far, we have received pledges in the
amount of $54,130. Thank you for your pledge. If you have not
yet made your pledge for this appeal, please make your pledge
today.
Stewardship Pledge Thank You

Ladies Fall Bible Study
The Ladies Fall Bible Study are on Wednesdays. We will be
studying the book of Bishop Barron’s Mystery of God. We meet
on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 to 11:30 am in the St. Joseph’s

Wednesday Adult Scripture Study
Discover the epic story of church history from a Catholic
perspective. As Catholics, we are heirs to a remarkable heritage.
The history of our faith is so much more than facts and dates. It is
a fascinating story of adventure, rebellion, tragedy and triumph
2000 years in the making. Join us for Epic: A Journey Through
Church History on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM in the St.
Joseph’s room. There will be a sheet in the Gathering Space to

K of C Squire Spaghetti Dinner 11/21
We are changing the day from 1st Friday to 3rd Saturday. The
Next Knights of Columbus Squire Spaghetti Dinner will be held
on Saturday the 21st of November from 5:30pm-7:30pm. The
cost is $7.00 Adults and $4.00 for Children. The Menu will be:
Spaghetti With Meatballs, Garlic Bread, Salad with Italian
Dressing, Sweet or Unsweet Tea, and Dessert. Please come out
for some great food and comradery with your fellow
parishioners. Take Out Service is also available. Thank You!
Primetimers 11/10
For parishioners men, women and their guest who are 50 or older
we get together once a month on the 2nd Tuesday. The Mass is at
11:00AM with a lunch after in the Parish Hall. The Primetimer
Cooks provide the meal. If you would like to cook or provide

Ladies' Auxiliary Bake Sale 11/21-22
Attention all bakers: Our annual Fall Bake Sale will be held
on the weekend of November 21-22 after the Saturday evening
and Sunday morning Masses. Please get out your favorite dessert
recipes and donate your wonderful baked goods to this important
event! Everyone is encouraged to purchase these delicious
desserts for your Thanksgiving gathering!!
Christmas Adult Choir
Christmas is sooner than we realize and it’s time to begin
preparing our music. The Adult Choir needs more voices. We
sing parts and harmony so it’s important that we get our whole
group together to practice. Rehearsals will be on Wednesday’s
from 7:15-8:30 PM in the Music Room. We will be preparing for
the 9:00 PM Christmas Eve liturgy. We have fun while we work
hard; and we would love to meet you and sing with you. If you
can carry a tune, and are at least a Sophomore in High School,
please give us a try. No prior experience is needed. Welcome
back to returning members! Hope you’ve had a nice

Confirmation Retreat Dates
St. Thomas Parish has set the dates for the Confirmation Retreats.
The Confirmation I Retreat will be on January 29-30, and the
Confirmation II Retreat will be March 11-12. Both retreats will be
at the Catholic Student Center on the corner of Highland and
Moody in Montevallo. All Confirmation candidates are required to
attend the retreats. Additional information will be provided as we
draw closer to the dates.
Does God Exist ? Debate 11/9
The Montevallo Campus Ministry Association will sponsor a
debate on “ Does God Exist?” at Anna Irvin Hall on the campus of
the University of Montevallo at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 9.
Dr. Michael Patton, who received his PhD from Syracuse
University, will take the position that God does not exist.
Dr. Jason Baldwin, who received his PhD from the University of
Notre Dame, will take the position that God does exist. The event
is open to the public, and there will be refreshments following the
event. All are welcome.

Árbol de Ángeles
La preocupación social de Santo Tomás Comité patrocinador de
un Árbol de Ángeles para dar regalos de Navidad para los niños
necesitados en Bibb y Shelby condados. El Ángel Árbol hasta el
