We likewise hear him proclaim that the coming time of his ministry will be a year acceptable to the Lord, what we today would call a year of jubilee. And here we look for a model for our own vocations. I would like to thank you for your past support of Together in Mission. Your contributions has helped 12,190 students in 63 schools and many more in 80 parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. You have impacted them by keeping the doors open for these parishes and schools in order to be great centers of faith and catholic education. Ultimately, this is a big part of the mission that Jesus established as he said, "Go out and make disciples of all nations." (Matthew 28:19) By helping these schools and parishes stay open, it has allowed the Gospel message to be proclaimed, heard and followed by many. We will be conducting the in-pew pledge process in January or you may make your pledge on-line at www.ourmissionla.org. Thank you once again for your contribution for 2015 and I look forward to continuing to build up our Church as we support one another. God bless. In Christ, Fr. En el nombre de Cristo, P. Albert, OSM Saint Ann Church Jubilee Year of Mercy January 24, 2016 Third Sunday in Ordinary Time When he announced this Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis highlighted today's Gospel episode, in which Jesus proclaims in his hometown synagogue his Spiritanointed mission to fulfill the promises of the prophet Isaiah. Jesus' mission then, says Pope Francis, is our mission now as Jesus' disciples this Jubilee Year of Mercy: to bring glad tidings to the poor, liberty to captives, recovery of sight to the blind, freedom to the oppressed, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord, a year of God's mercy. Pope Francis challenges us to translate Jesus' mission to contemporary needs: to console by word and deed those materially or spiritually poor, to liberate those bound by modern society's new forms of slavery, to open the eyes of those blinded by their own self-interest, and to restore human dignity to all those from whom it has been stolen. To act with mercy in a spirit of joy! “Go, eat rich foods and drink sweet drinks, and allot portions to those who had nothing prepared…” (Nehemiah 8:10) Ezra’s instructions to the people show us that God does not forbid us from enjoying the good things in life, he wants us to be happy! However, He expects us to generously share our blessings with those who are in need, without expecting anything in return. Did you know/Sabia Usted: Establecer límites da lugar a relaciones saludables Establecemos límites para mantener nuestras vidas en orden.
