The end of our Lenten journey is imminent. Have we altered our
lives? Have we rededicated ourselves? Have we renewed our covenant with the Lord? These are major conversions and changes, and
perhaps the best question we can ask ourselves is quite simply, “Is
anything different?”
In the few days we have remaining we must strive for some form
of purification, by some effort to reject sin and selfishness. As good
stewards we need to identify something in our lives, someone in
our lives perhaps, with which or with whom we must reconcile.
First and foremost we must reconcile with God; if we fix that relationship, everything else naturally follows.
We have been given gifts through the Holy Spirit. This is a vital time
for us to use those gifts to build the Kingdom of God. St. David of
Crete said this of Palm Sunday: “Let us run to accompany the Lord
as He hastens toward His Passion, not by covering His path with
palms, but by being humble and by trying to live as He would wish.”

Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady of Fatima,/
Queridos parroquianos y amigos de Nuestra Señora de Fátima,
Today we see Jesus entering triumphantly into Jerusalem with cheers and
adulation. (We re-enact this still today.)
This set of people were from the poor
side of town in Bethpage. They lived
outside the city walls and were heavily
taxed and oppressed. Jesus was their
champion. In their minds he was going
to set things right. Little they did know
that the phrase from scripture, “God’s
ways are not our ways” would mean so
much.
Jesus would wear a crown and have a
throne. Just not made from gold and
marble, but thorns and wood. They
would have been devastated upon hearing what transpired later in the
week, but then the whispers started and became a call to one another,
He is risen! And our lives are changed forever.
Thursday Night Confessions at 7pm: April 23 (picnic tables at end of
parking lot by the pier)
God bless you all!
Fr. Jim
nuestros caminos” significara mucho.

Covenant fulfilled
Pacto Cumplido
We began this season of Lent considering God’s covenant
with us. What is this covenant? It is the promise of God’s
great love – a promise that is fulfilled in Jesus Christ. As we
hear again the account of his Jesus’ passion, we are challenged to embrace more fully our own baptismal promise to
become one with him and share in his life.
2.I experience God’s love ……………….
Jesucristo.
3.How have you grown in your covenant relationship with
God during Lent?
