Sacrament of Baptism. The Sacrament of Baptism should be
celebrated as soon as possible after birth. Therefore parents
should contact the parish office prior to the child’s birth. This
will allow adequate time for the necessary preparation of the
parents and the Godparents.
Sacrament of Reconciliation

Sacrament of Marriage. Requires at least nine months of
preparation before the Marriage. Contact the Pastor, through
the parish office, to start the process.
Pastoral Care: please contact the parish office if you are aware
a parishioner is sick and desires to receive the Eucharist,
Anointing of the Sick or a visit from the Pastor.
Parish Registration forms are available through the office.
Sacramento del Bautismo. El Sacramento del Bautismo debe
ser celebrado tan pronto como sea posible después del

COORDINADORA SACRAMENTAL
DE LOS HISPANOS
Estamos muy agradecidos a la diócesis y la oficina del
ministerio hispano por ofrecernos una posición nueva en
nuestra parroquia. Lala aceptó la posición de
coordinadora sacramental que será financiada por una
subvención anual. La coordinadora ayudará a las
familias hispanas con el proceso de registro para los
sacramentos. También, Lala planificará las liturgias con
ritos especiales (presentación, bautismo, quinceañera y
boda) así apoyando a nuestra comunidad hispana.
María Morales seguirá en su posición de coordinadora
de educación religiosa.
RECIPIENTE DE ORACIONES
Les ofrecemos otra oportunidad más de oración esta
Cuaresma. En la mesa al lado del ambón hay un recipiente
para colocar sus intenciones especiales. Rezaremos por sus
intenciones en nuestras misas dominicales esta Cuaresma.
HISPANIC SACRAMENTAL FORMATION &
LITURGICAL COORDINATOR
We are very grateful to the Diocese of Richmond and the
Office of Hispanic Ministry for expanding our parish staff
to better serve the needs of our Hispanic community.
Bárbara S. O’Connell is our new Hispanic Sacramental
Formation and Liturgical Coordinator. This position will be
funded by an annual grant. The coordinator will assist
Hispanic families with sacramental registration. Also the
coordinator will plan specific liturgical celebrations to
support our Hispanic community. María Morales will
continue in her position as Coordinator of Religious
Education.

TRIDUUM PRACTICE
The Triduum Liturgy is unique as it occurs only once
each year. It is therefore imperative that anyone
involved in the Triduum attend the appropriate practice.
As is the custom at St. Gerard, these practice sessions
are held, the Saturday (March 28) before Passion (Palm)
Sunday.

La Liturgia Triduo es única, ya que sólo se ocurre una
vez cada año. Por lo tanto, es indispensable que todas
las personas que participan en el Triduo asistan a las
prácticas apropiadas. Como es costumbre en San
Gerardo, estas sesiones de práctica son el sábado (28
marzo) antes del domingo de Pasión (Ramos).

The next stop on our CRS Rice Bowl journey is the
African nation, Niger, where we’re reminded that life’s
joys and challenges are often seasonal. This week
we pray for people who struggle to feed their families
during the hungry season—when food is in short
supply—and we commit to acting for the common good.
La próxima parada en nuestra jornada de Plato de Arroz
de CRS es en el país africano, Níger, donde se nos

There are upcoming Sessions for Liturgical Ministers. As
Lent unfolds, it is a fitting time for all of us to reflect on our
ministry as well as review the guidelines. Deacon Steve
invites all ministers to attend a training session for their

Eucaristía, un programa para ayudarle a crecer en su fe
católica y a vivir como discípulos de Jesús.
FORMACION PARA PAREJAS. ¿Cuál es la misión
de la familia en la Iglesia?¿Cómo sería una familia
inspirada en Jesús? ¿ES JESUS EL CENTRO DE
MI FAMILIA? Esta y muchas otras preguntas son

Sacramento del Bautismo
Próxima charla pre bautismal: el
sábado 2 de mayo de 3-5pm.
Próximas fechas de bautismo: el
31 de mayo. Solo cinco niños por
domingo, de las familias que ya se
hayan inscrito y tomado la plática.
Las familias interesadas deben asistir a misa todos los
domingos, estar ya inscritas en la parroquia y deben
haber tenido llenada la forma de inscripción al bautismo
por uno de los ministros. NO deben traer los niños a la
plática, para así todos poderse concentrar.

World Meeting of Families. Tuesday 09-22-2015 –
Sunday 09-27-2015. The Center for Marriage, Family,
and Life within the Diocese is going to be organizing a
diocesan-wide pilgrimage to participate in the World
Meeting of Families from September 22-27, 2015. The
Holy Father will be visiting Philadelphia for this
monumental event that involves great opportunities for
Catholic families from across the globe to worship,
learn, and grow in faith together. Stay tuned for more
information coming this fall.

una oportunidad para los jóvenes hispanos del 8-12
grado. El tema de este año de la Oficina de
Evangelización es ELEGIDO, basado en Juan 15:16,
“Ustedes no me escogieron a Mí, sino que Yo los escogí
a ustedes, y los designe para que vayan y den fruto, y
que su fruto permanezca; para que todo lo que pidan al
Padre en Mi nombre se lo conceda.” Dios nos escoge
específicamente para cumplir la misión de construir su
reino y le da poder y nos prepara para llevar esta fruta.
Alégrate de que has sido elegido para esta llamada y
capacitado por el Espíritu Santo. El retiro cuesta $40 por
joven participante si se inscribe antes del 5 de abril,
2015. Después del 5 de abril, es $55. El costo para los
adultos acompañantes es $10 o $25. Por favor contacte
