Parish Prayer
Father pour out Your Spirit upon the people of Our
Lady of Perpetual Help Parish and grant us a new awareness of Your glory, a new experience of Your power, a
new understanding of Your Word and a new commitment
to Your service, so that Your love may grow among us
and Your Kingdom come, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Living the Eucharist
Oración Parroquial
During the season of Lent, we would like to form small
faith sharing groups to enrich our faith. We’re looking
for volunteers to serve as team leaders and participants to
share the faith in their homes or in the church. If you
would like to participate, contact Mr. Luis Rivera in the
Rectory. Thank you.

Mardi Gras
Tuesday, February 17
Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday, referring to the
practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods
before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season, which
begins on Ash Wednesday. The day is sometimes referred
to as Shrove Tuesday, from the word shrive, meaning
"confess."
———————————————————————-
The Lenten Season
The season of Lent is near. It is
time to start thinking of what you
are going to resolve to do. Do you
need to be more prayerful, more
generous or more forgiving; can
you reconcile with someone? The
point is to grow spiritually. So, if
you don't pray enough, don't just
give up dessert - set aside time for
prayer each day.
Ash Wednesday is February 18.
Services will be held:
8:30 a.m. Mass (English)

This gathering will take place this coming September
with Pope Francis presiding. We all look forward to celebrating with him The Joy of Christ...The Family’s Hope.
All of us as individuals and as families have the opportunity to prepare for this event. First we need to get to
know Jesus better. How about reading the Gospels and
speaking to Him in prayer. Secondly, we need to experience His love more deeply. How about reflecting on all
He has done for us. After we do these two things, we
have a lot to share with others about Jesus!

verdad.
Job 7, 1-4. 6-7, Sal 146, 1-6, 1 Cor 9, 16-19. 22-23
