JUDE CATHOLIC CHURCH CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE FEBRUARY 8, 2015 SPIRITUAL LIFE PARISH LIFE SACRISTANS: THE INVISIBLE MINISTRY As you arrive for Mass, the altar breads, water, and wine are there in the inner lobby; chalices can be seen on the credence table to the left of the altar. After Mass, as you take a few minutes to talk to friends or get a hug from Fr. Charlie, the “altar dishes” (sacred vessels) are cleared away. Setting up for each Mass and cleaning up afterwards are not difficult jobs, but our priest-celebrants or deacons must do it—unless someone helps. This “helper,” whom you may never see, is a Sacristan. If you can devote a few minutes to this ministry before and after Mass, or if you are a Sacristan now, please come to the Parish Library on Tuesday evening, February 24, at 7pm. Questions: contact Bill Laudeman at 877-8025 or [email protected]. MARDI GRAS POTLUCK & FR.
