Meetings This Week Here at the Church:
Lectionary Group meets on Tuesday, Feb 3 at 10:30 am (Shalom Room).
Theme and Text: “Soar Like An Eagle” (Isaiah 40:21-31). All are welcome.
Unit 1 UCW meets on Tuesday February 3, 1:30 pm. Presentation including
slides by Diane & Jim Maxwell on The Place of Hope- Project Canaan in
Swaziland run by their son and daughter in law. Visitors welcome.
Cope Kit topic for Thursday February 5, 9:15 am is ‘What do you know
about Ghana and Burkina Faso?’ with Jane Burgess as guest speaker. Jane
has gone there on humanitarian trips visiting schools and health clinics.
All are welcome.
There will be no Pancake Supper this year. Instead the SOSA Committee will
focus its energy on the upcoming Lenten Project. Details to follow.

2014 Tax Receipts are available for pickup following this morning’s service.

Nicaragua Mission Trip Fundraising: If you would like to make a tax
deductible donation to the fund, please make cheques payable to Bells
Corners United Church with “Mission Exposure Fund” in the memo line.
Total raised to date is $17,554.35. Fundraising is on target, so thank you
everyone who has donated and supported our activities to date!
A Night in Nicaragua! is coming on Sunday February 22, 5:30 pm when
those who are participating in the March Mission Exposure Trip to
Nicaragua will be hosting a four course authentic Nicaraguan dinner
followed by special guest singer/songwriter/storyteller Rory Gardiner!
Tickets: $25- adults; $12.50 - 12 & under.
Bake Sale: The next Fundraising Bake Sale for the March Mission Exposure
trip to Nicaragua will be held TODAY! Other future dates include February
15 and March 1. Plan to come and purchase some baking following worship.

Tuesday Feb 3rd, Noon, Parkdale United Church: Recently returned from an
ebola-related mission in Liberia, Médecins Sans Frontières Christene MacLeod
will speak to Ottawa Presbytery's Global Partners Committee. Join us for
this opportunity to have an informal discussion and to share up-to-date first
hand information about ebola. Bring a bag lunch. Fairly traded tea is served.

parking lot off Parkdale unless you need handicapped access (Gladstone). If
every regular member brings 2 or 3 guests we can fill the room.
30,000+ Books for Sale at Kanata United Church, 33 Leacock Drive February
19 - 21. Donate used books at the 24 hour dropbox at the church entrance
until February 9. No textbooks, encyclopedia or magazines. Details on
corridor bulletin board.
