NOTICE INVITING QUOTATIONS FOR PURCHASE OF
MATTRESSES AND PILLOWS FOR HOSTEL / GUEST HOUSE
1. The Additional Director General of NACEN, Chennai-58, invites offers under a single
bid system in prescribed tender/bid document from reputed firms for purchase of 80
Nos. of mattresses and 104 Nos. of pillows for our office Trainee hostel and Guest
House located at Central Revenue Quarters, 15th Main road, Anna Nagar-east,
Chennai.
2. The quality, measurements and specifications of the mattresses and pillows, to be
complied with by the bidder, are detailed in the Annexure to this Notice.
3. Your quotations/ bids are to be submitted in Sealed Covers in person / by registered
post / speed post / courier so as to reach the above mentioned address on or before
12-00 noon on 09-02-2015 (Monday). The name of the tendering company and the
words “Tender Document for mattresses and pillows” should also be inscribed
boldly on the cover.
4. A sample piece of Mattress clearly showing the cross-section of the layers and one
sample pillow, with suitable markings to identify the bidding firm, also should
accompany the quotation.
5. Offers / bids received beyond the stipulated time and date shall not be considered /
entertained. The date and time of opening the tenders will be 02-00 PM on
09-02-2015 (Monday). All bidders or their competent representatives are encouraged
to be present for the opening of the tenders.
6. The Department reserves the right to reject any of the offers without assigning any

ANNEXURE
SPECIFICATION / QUALITY OF THE MATTRESS & PILLOW
1. The mattress should be only from reputed brands in the market
2. The mattress should have at least 5 inch thickness;
3. The mattress may be made of
A. Rubberised Coir.
In this case,
a) The mattress should be of density 80 with a combination of layers of
Rubberised Coir and Bonded Foam to minimise sagging.
b) It is preferred that the layer of Bonded Foam is sandwiched between 2 layers of
Rubberised Coir.
c) The top the mattress should have a layer of quilt
(or)
B. High Density Bonded Foam of density 80, preferably with quilt layers.
4. The mattress should have a minimum of 5 years guaranty, provided by the Manufacturer
(not by the dealer).
5. The mattresses of the following sizes and numbers are required
a) 75” x 36” : 68 numbers
b) 75” x 60” : 12 numbers
6. The pillows will be of the following specification:
a) Fibre pillows of size 17” x 27” – 104 Nos.
b) The pillows should be filled with flexible hollow fibre
c) The pillows should be anti-allergenic and anti-microbial
