Chesson Chronicle Page Fourth Quarter 2014 Quality Construction through Expertise, Efficiency, & Integrity Serving Our Clients Since 1981 Fourth Quarter 2014 #1 Nationally Ranked Kirby Builder The A. R. Chesson Construction Pre-Engineered Metal Building Division has been recognized for the second consecutive year as one of the top builders for Kirby Building Systems (A NUCOR Company) in 2014 and ranked #1 nationally in shipments over other Kirby Builders. The new year gets off to a good start with the CD-1 warehouse reroof project at Naval Station Norfolk. This project includes demolishing existing roof panels and installing a new 360’ x 420’ gable roof. Additionally, new roof panels will be fabricated onsite to extend ridge to eave without any joints resulting in an impressive Naval Station Norfolk seamless panel over 180’ long. Continuing Green Initiatives A. R. Chesson Construction promotes sustainable and ecologically friendly worksites by using “Green” construction methods and recycling whenever possible. An area of concern is the amount of scrap metal that is directed to area landfills from our dumpsters. In an effort to reduce this waste, our firm negotiated an arrangement with Empire Recyclers of Lewiston, NC. Empire has agreed to provide scrap metal recycling dumpsters for selective jobsites that produce significant metal waste. Empire will collect the scrap metal collected from those jobsites which will reduce the amount of landfill waste and recycle the scrap metal to a useable form. A. R. Chesson Construction takes pride in this partnership and actively seeks other ways to reduce waste and promote environmental sustainability. This is one of the many ways that A. R. Chesson Construction is committed to “Quality Construction through Expertise, Efficiency and Integrity”.
