W., Suite 44 Mississauga, ON., L5H 1E9 Don Rowing Club – Club Manager Posting Background: Don Rowing Club is a long-established club with a proud history of competitive excellence. The club has both competitive and community programs operating within a year-round training facility. Located in the City of Mississauga and on the Credit River, we have a 2000 meter course of sheltered water, rowing from April to November. The club has a large fleet in good order, indoor training facilities including a tank, and a number of program coaches already in place. There are nearly 200 competitive members (including Junior, Senior, and Masters athletes) and another 100 recreational members with room to grow in all categories. The Position: The Don Rowing Club is looking for a Club Manager to accomplish objectives and projects established by the Board of Directors and reflected in the club’s long-term strategic plan. Primarily, the goal for this position is to provide assistance to all of the club’s operational functions. This includes assistance in areas such as rowing operations, customer service, sales, marketing, bookkeeping, human resources and facilities management. This person will work closely with the Head Coach and Captain to ensure communication and harmony among all programs and members at the club. Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach and Program Coaches in administrative tasks including (but not limited to) membership administration, athlete communication, regatta entries and logistics Assist the Captain and the rowing committee in managing the coaching staff, as well as maintenance and repair of the club’s facilities and equipment Assist the Membership Director in maintaining member registration and accounts receivable Assist the Fundraising Director in the club’s organized fundraising initiatives and grant applications Assist the Bingo Volunteers to oversee the successful communication and implementation of member’s Bingo requirements, and completion of required reports and paperwork Maintain the Don Rowing Club website, social media and manage newsletter communications to all members Develop office systems that enhance communications, minimize paperwork, maintain lists and databases Perform basic bookkeeping duties and payroll management with QuickBooks software Continue to develop and adhere to Shells & Sails guidelines Oversee and help implement the long-term strategic plan of the Rowing Club Requirements: Passion for the sport of rowing Excellent communication, organization and time management skills High degree of self-motivation and initiative Post-secondary degree or comparable experience in business, marketing or communications Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, desktop publishing, and basic website maintenance Ability to work flexible hours, with potentially heavier work load during the summer rowing season (May – August) Applicants should submit an up to date resume, references, and a cover letter that outlines their interest in the position and how they meet the experience and qualifications.
