ARIZONA CHAPTER MOAA SPRING GOLF TOURNAMENT
Hi Folks. The Arizona Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will be holding
their Spring Golf Tournament on April 23rd, 2015. This is a really fun event and we would like
to have as many MOAA members and other guests as possible participate. This is one of a
limited number of methods we use to raise funds for our Chapter Scholarship Fund which helps
graduating high school Junior ROTC seniors attend college. Fun is guaranteed and anyone who
can “fog a mirror” should win something. So come on out and have some fun and help us send
these outstanding students to college.
The AZ Chapter Spring Golf Tournament will be held at Stonecreek Golf Club 4435 E.
Paradise Village Parkway South, Phoenix, AZ 85032; Phone 602-953-9111. Check-in from 6:30
- 7:30 A.M. Shotgun start at 8:00 A.M. This event will be two divisions with many place
prizes: Those with USGA established handicaps and provided Official Index, and all others
playing the Peoria System where 6 played holes are randomly selected beforehand to establish
handicaps based on their scores on those holes. Skill prizes will be awarded on all holes (closest
to pin on all par-3’s, and longest putt made on all par 4’s and 5’s).
The tournament entry fee is $70 and covers everything including handouts, range balls, all
prizes including a $1000 Hole-In- One, other sponsored prizes, golf, cart, and a great hamburger
buffet luncheon afterwards. JUST ABOUT EVERYBODY WINS!!! Fifty percent of the "50-50
drawing" and fifty percent of the “skin game” collections go to the scholarship fund - as well
as all donations and hole sponsor fees.
Using the attached entry form, please remit a check for entry fees NO LATER THAN April
13th, 2015.
Stonecreek Golf Club is a links style golf course offering championship golf, surrounded by
spectacular mountain views in the heart of Phoenix, AZ. The facility offers a public driving
range as well as a spacious short game practice area with its combination of modern
facilities and beauty.

COST: $70 - which includes cart fee, green fees, range balls, a great hamburger buffet luncheon
and a few bucks left over for prizes and the Scholarship Fund.
WHO: Members, guests, and anyone else wishing to support the youth of the Valley of the Sun.
DRESS CODE: Collared shirts are required. Soft spikes on golf shoes – you may wear sneakers.
WHAT: Reservations and $70.00 fee must be received by April 13th, 2015. Please mail fees

you have questions.
SPECIAL RULES: This event will be a single division 12 place prizes for those with
established USGA handicaps; others will play the Peoria handicap system described above with
ten place prizes . Skill prizes will be awarded on all holes (closest to pin on all par-3’s and
longest putt made on all par 4’s and 5’s). Those wishing to eat and not play golf will pay $15,
with those checks also made out to AZ Chapter MOAA, mailed to Pat. This is a very friendly,
fun tournament. You do not have to be a good golfer to play and have fun with this group. We do
have some “good” golfers, but they just have to put up with the rest of us.
