The increasing industrials accidents created demand for safety management and thousands of safety
officer vacancies are generating every year in India and Gulf countries. 80% of these vacancies are
generating from private / public sectors like petrochemical industries, oil and gas industries, construction
companies, manufacturing industries etc… The expected salary of a Safety Officer in India is (Rs)
15,000/- to 40,000/- pm and Gulf countries (Rs) 25,000/- to 80,000 /-pm and above…

Training Method
The course is carefully designed to study at home and there is no need to attend any regular classes.
You can study the course without disturbing your job and other studies at your place easily. You will get
all the study materials after confirmation of admission by registered post. Start the learning process with
work books, assignment and project work and complete it according to the instructions at your home.
Then start 5 days field work to do the industrial visits. We will give the industry details, instructions and
permission latter to do the visits at your place easily. Then send all the completed reports to the institute
by registered post for valuation. Then attend one day class and final examinations at the end of the
course at selected locations all over India to complete the training process
How to Study at Home?
The course is carefully designed to study at home and there is no need to attend any regular classes.
The course follows a new, easy, self-learning method consisting 4 different stages. You can study the
course at your home without disturbing your job and other studies. You can easily complete the following
4 learning stages at your place individually without any personal or teacher assistance.
Work Books (Stage 1): To start the learning process, complete work books according to the
instructions of the institute (Do it at home)
Assignments (Stage 2): Complete different assignments according to the instructions (Do it at home)
Industrial Visits (Stage 3): You can complete the industrial and fire station visit individually according
to the instructions of the institute at your place. We will send all the materials, instructions, industry
names and permission latter to do the visit at your place easily. Note: 5 day’s field work required to
complete the visits. You can do the visits individually at your place. (At the end of the course only)
Project Work (Stage 4): Prepare project reports according to the instructions of the institute. Project
reports need imagination work only and there is no need to visit any place. (Do it at home).
Final Examination: After completion of the 4 learning stages, forward all reports to the institute for
attending one day class and final examinations at selected locations all over India (At the end of the
course only)

Transportation Safety, Breathing Apparatus operations, Rescue operations, Health - Hygiene
Management, Medical First Aid, Industrial Law, Safety Documentation etc…
Printed Study Materials
There is no need to purchase any books from outside. We will send all the printed study materials and
training instructions within 10 days from the date of admission by registered post. We will also arrange
all the materials and permission latter to do the industrial visit at your place. All other documents (if any)
will be sent time to time by registered post.
Clarification Notes: During the training period all IIST students will get clarification notes free of cost to
clarify their doubts in the study subject (if required). Write to: [email protected]
One Day Class &.Final Examination.
Final examinations withpractical oriented direct class (one day only) will be conducted at 8 different
locations in India at the end of the course in a Hotel Conference Hall.(Saturday or Sunday). Students will
get the detailed information about the class and examination with model question papers and hall ticket
before one month from the date of examination. Select any one location from the below list for attending
the class and examinations at the end of the course (one day only). The locations are:

KOCHI……………...KOLKATA………LUCKNOW…….MUMBAI………
The class will help students to clarify their doubts in the study subject with an IIST faculty. The class will
also help students to understand important tips to attend an interview in a better way. (Attending contact
class is not compulsory)
Class timing: 10.00 am to 1 pm
Examination timing: 2 pm to 3.30 pm (unit 1 to 4) and 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm (unit 5 to 8)
(Same day at the end of the course and normally held in Saturday or Sunday)
Postal Examination Facility (Optional)
In case a student is not able to attend the examinations at the above 7 locations due to job or any other
reasons are permitted to select Postal examination facility for their final examinations. Students are
permitted to answer the specially designed question papers at their own place (at home) and send by
registered post forvaluation
Passing Requirements
Students must secure 35% marks in each unit (10 units) for a pass. They will be placed in different
grades based on the aggregate percentage secured. (Performance in training stage 1, 2, 3, 4 are
considered in the valuation and the marks will be entered in unit 9 and 10 respectively)
How to Join the Course?
In case of distant education, there is no need to come to Kochi to join the institute personally. Applicants
are advised to follow the below mentioned 3 simple steps to join IIST (from any location)
1.Take a printout of the IIST application form from the IIST website (www.iistsafety.com)
2.Fill up the form and attach the following enclosures:
a) Passport size color photo (Two)
b) Photo copy of educational certificate (Last or higher educational certificate)
c) Photocopy of your photo ID like Passport / Driving license / Aadar etc… (Any one)
d) DD in the name of Institute of Industrial Safety Technology Payable at Ernakulam (Any bank)
3.Forward completed application form with enclosures by speed post to:

training will starts on 15 thof the respective month

Rules and Regulations
Students are admitted under distant learning mode only. Admission form with incomplete particulars and
enclosure will not be considered. No refund or adjustment of fee paid shall be made under any
circumstances.
IIST
is
not
responsible
for
any
accident/misbehavior/loss
created
by
a
student/organization during industrial / fire station visit. All communications including study materials will
be sending to the address given in the admission form, if there is any change in the address it should be
intimated to the institute immediately. In all matters concerning the conduct of the IIST program, the
decision of the director shall be final. All disputes (if any) relating to IIST are subject to KochiJurisdiction.
IIST placement cell will inform interview and vacancy information’s to the successful students according
to the availability and getting selection / placement will depend upon the students ability and
performance in the interview only (In India and Gulf Countries only)
Note: 1. As part of our quality standards and cost cutting policy, we are not appointed any agents,
franchises and branch offices anywhere. The 5 examination centers (except Kochi) mentioned in the
prospectus are temporary locations and there is no office or contact persons available at these
locations. 2. Admissions are done at our office at Kochi only (directly or by post) and all communications

Award of Diploma & ICP Certificates
Diploma Certificate and mark list with ICP certification, a privileged professional qualification in safety
management from IIST will be awarded on successful completion of the training and this can be
collected from the office or the same shall be awarded by registered post. (2 certificates and 1 Mark list)
Note: 1. We will not mention correspondence course in the certificates because the DISM-ICP program
consist direct class and industrial visits 2. We will not mention postal examination in the certificates
because our knowledge testing standards are equal to conventional center examination methods

to get down at Ernakulam railway station and take 45 minutes bus journey and get down at Puthotta to
