Of Mice and Men is published
On this day, John Steinbeck's novella Of Mice and Men, the story of the bond between two migrant workers, is published. He adapted
the book into a three-act play, which was produced the same year. The story brought national attention to Steinbeck's work, which had
started to catch on in 1935 with the publication of his first successful novel, Tortilla Flat.

Trenza: is a student-run organization in the UC Berkeley Campus that focuses in: supporting women through academics, encouraging
community service, employment through cultural heritage, and sisterhood support. Every year Trenza gives out two $500 scholarships to
graduating high school senior girls. This is a great opportunity for high school girls interested in going to college, to be able to received

12. The Napa Valley Community Foundation has 3 scholarships available to high school seniors. They are: 1) The Fruit of the Vine Scholarship
for students who plan to attend a 4-year school in the fall and have financial need. 2) The George and Gwendolyn Goodin Scholarship
fund for dependents of military veterans who plan to attend a 2-yer, 4-year, or vocational college. 3) The Lenore Hirsch-Jay Falk/Waller
Crafford Scholarship Fund for graduating seniors who have overcome academic challenges and plan to attend a 2-year or 4-year college
