WELCOME
The City of Lincoln’s Community Development Department is committed to offering local residents a variety of high quality and cost-effective municipal
services. This newly formed Community Development Department is comprised of four Divisions: Public Services, Development Services, Engineering
Services, and Economic Development Services. It is the desire of the Department and four Divisions to create a strong sense of community while
enhancing the quality of life for current and future residents.
As a part of the Public Services Division, our Parks and Recreation Team is dedicated to enriching the lives of all residents and visitors by providing safe,
attractive park and recreation facilities, and affordable, diverse recreation programs for people of all ages. We strive to create memorable experiences
by offering a wide range of passive and active recreational opportunities that include everything from a leisurely walk on an open space trail, to a highly
programmed and intense youth basketball camp. The Recreation staff continuously works to provide activities that meet the needs of the growing and
diverse community.

Mommy & Me (Baby) Ballet
Pre-Ballet & Tap
This is perfect for the budding baby ballerina! We
introduce young children to the wonderful world
of ballet through story, make believe and music.
Rudimentary ballet steps will be taught in an age
appropriate way. Proper French terminology will be
used and built upon in this class. Please dress your
ballerina in pink tights, black leotard (without a skirt)
and pink leather ballet slippers. No class 1/19, 2/16.
Age: 1.5-3
This class focuses on the fundamentals of classical
ballet and tap, focusing on the development of
technique, proper alignment, flexibility, and strength.
Class time will focus on proper barre work to build a
solid foundation for floor exercises, turns, jumps and
combinations that incorporate all aspects of classical

Your little dancer will love this fun and active class!
Learn basic hip hop moves and get your child into

These classes are for children ages 18 months to 10 years of age. Instructor Angie Floyd creates a fun program for girls and boys that teaches basic gymnastics skills in
a positive learning environment. Each class includes activities that are geared toward improving gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and developing self-esteem in

Active Tots Sports
Active Tots Sports classes offer a fun and safe
environment for learning sport fundamentals. We offer
exposure to team sports prior to recreational athletics
and an opportunity to socialize with peers to lay the
groundwork for a healthy lifestyle. Active Tots coaches
have years of experience in childhood athletics and
offer innovative ways for your child to get excited
about sports! We strongly encourage sportsmanship,
team work, and most of all motivation to have FUN! All
equipment is provided, so come on out and play!
Classes do require some parent participation.
No class 3/31, 4/2.
Active Tots offers a $10 sibling discount when 2 or
more siblings register in an Active Tots program during
the same session.
Challenger SportsMini Kickers
Challenger Sports coaches and the First Kicks program
teach basic soccer skills while developing strength,
balance, coordination, listening skills, cooperation, and
teamwork in children ages 2 - 5 years old.

together for your Kindergartners.

experience.

Hoop Improvement for Kids
Kuk Sool Won
This youth basketball program will provide your young
player the opportunity to learn about basketball in a fun
and positive environment. Each day will feature easy
to learn instruction along with enjoyable games and
contests that will enhance their development and love
of the game. Coach Rick Bauer is the Director of Good
Sport U and the girl’s basketball coach at Silverado
Middle School in Roseville. All players receive a Good
Sport U shirt. Some parental play is requested in this

Arts Program, Dragons is for children 5-6 years of
age who have attended several Tots sessions but still
may not be ready for Juniors. Dragons is designed

Scholarships are available for low income families.
In order to obtain a scholarship, an application and
income verification must be submitted. Approval of the
scholarship may take up to 2 weeks. Please contact
