Fran Ford Inducted Into PPAI Hall of
Fame During the 2015 EXPO
Fran Ford, Castelli USA, was inducted in the PPAI Hall of Fame at a dinner held in
Las Vegas, in conjunction with the 2015 PPAI Expo. Castelli, located in Sparks,
Nevada, has been a PMANC member since 2008. Paul Kiewit, MAS, Executive
Director of MIPPA was also inducted.
Fran Ford has been a member of the industry for 38 years, originally as owner of
distributor Motford, Inc. in
Dallas, Texas. In that time, he’s
been active on numerous PPAI
committees, councils and
volunteer groups; as a popular
speaker in the industry,
presenting at the PPAI Expo,
numerous regional associations,
and industry groups, and at the
PSI Show in Dusseldorf,
Germany; and as an advocate for
the and in the Texas, Nevada and
Arizona statehouses.

“I cannot begin to describe the wave of emotions I have felt since being notified
of my selection to the PPAI Hall of Fame,” said Ford in an interview for PPB
Newslink. “A thank-you is not enough to express my gratitude to all of the
people that made this possible. I am blessed to have so many people allow me
to be a part of their lives. I am truly honored to stand with all of the pioneers
who have shaped our industry and have a place in our Hall of Fame and proud to
be a part of the legacy in the years to come.”
Ford is also a steadfast supporter of and donor to the Promotional Products
Education Foundation (PPEF). A member of the PPEF Board of Trustees in 20002004, he served as the board’s president in 2002. While a member of the board,
he played a significant role in the launch of the foundation’s Tomorrow Fund
pledge program, which helped raise $1 million from 2000 to 2003. And he’s still
active in helping the Foundation reach its goals. Ford’s hands-on approach was
instrumental in getting the 2014 PPEF Glen Holt Scholarship Golf Invitational off
the ground.
PMANC congratulates Fran Ford on receiving this honor and extends its most
sincere thanks for his contributions to the promotional productions industry.

Greetings and Happy New Year to all!
I hope that the past year has been one of great prosperity and growth. What a great
start for 2015! The installation luncheon was a success and lots of fun. One of the
inspirations to me was how people contributed and helped bring the event together.
Although our ED did a great job of getting the event organized, the board was late from
our meeting and had to scramble to get ready. Many
members jumped in to help finish the set up and bring
good cheer to the afternoon. Thank you to the many
companies that donated to our auction. $??? were
raised for the Campbell Brown Scholarship.

The board has gotten off to a really great start! We had
our retreat in Sonoma in November. Everyone attended
with great enthusiasm, energy and lots of good ideas
for you, our members. New ideas for Showcase to
freshen it up a little, (Promo is back!!!) and innovative
ways for members to interact and get to know each other better (First Impressions).
The board members demonstrated gusto at the retreat by taking on specific duties to
make PMANC a stronger more responsive organization. The theme for this year is Own it
and each member has agreed to own their share.

Susan Shaw has joined Torn Ranch, a leading gourmet
food and gift manufacturer, effective January 6th
announced Deana Kay, President of Torn Ranch. In her
new role, Susan will direct the business development for
the company’s rapidly expanding promotional products
channel. “We are thrilled that Susan is joining our
team. Her vast experience and relationships within the
promotional products industry will enable us to better
serve our corporate gifting customers. We are
embarking on an exciting time at Torn Ranch as we
continue to communicate the benefits of our unique and
upscale branded gourmet solutions, expand our national
outreach, and implement new programs and products,”
states Kay. Susan most recently served as the Sales
Manager for the Western Region for Victorinox Swiss
Army. Prior to that she has served with distinction at
both Rand McNally and 3M for many years.
Chocolate Inn / Taylor & Grant (ASI: 44900; PPAI:

completed the acquisition of the assets of A La Carte

You need longer Showcase hours? Opening from
9:30AM -4PM – you have extended hours available to
accommodate your hectic work day!
End Users? No problem! The last two Showcase
hours (2PM-4PM) will be open to welcome your
clients to see and share the latest arrivals before the
summer!
Resource hub and food court – With education and
food on the Showcase floor, stop for a break and ask
a few technical or product safety questions, inquire
about Pantone, ZoomCatalog and/or Sage and PPAI! They will ensure you stay current with the latest information to

Now in its 7th year, PMANC’s Showcase Scramble, is back at Pacific Grove Golf Links because last year’s
players had so much fun, they wanted to return to Pacific Grove in 2015. For those unfamiliar with the
course, Pacific Grove Golf Links opened in 1932 and enjoys a rich and storied history. The 18-hole layout,
with a front nine that offers glimpses of Monterey
Bay on fairways framed by an ocean-side back nine
and cut through windswept dunes reminiscent of a
traditional Sco sh links, has delighted visitors and
locals alike for over 75 years.
Offering a fun-filled yet competitive challenge, and
boasting an architectural lineage of elite proportions,
the Pacific Grove Golf Links has won both local and
national acclaim for its classic design and
affordability.
SanMar is once again sponsoring the $10,000 Holein-One Contest so start practicing soon and practice
o en. What would YOU do if you won $10,000? It
could happen!
The fun begins on Thursday, May 7th with a shotgun
start at 12:30 PM. Cost per player is $102.00 and
includes green fees, cart, and lunch.
Single players will be paired by PMANC. If you wish to
